The portions are rather large. The parking lot is spacious. I like that the dining area is separate from the cashier area. It reduces for traffic and gives you a nice quiet spot to enjoy your meal
Found this local place on Tripadvisor and we were not disappointed.
Excellent food. The big size chicken soup is indeed a full meal and delicious! We added a taco out of curiosity and it was tasty and very fresh as well. Loved the green and red hot (HOT) salsa that came with the (free) nacho's.
Definitely a place I can recommend and I would love to visit again and again (if I lived nearby). Not a fancy place, interior is old an run down, but that does not matter to me.. the food does and it deserves 5 stars (and service was friendly and helpful)
This place is most known for the chicken soup (the only reason I come here) warning: Very generous with minced onions that's not optional to take out. But I love that part of it. Gets huge pieces of chicken that are tender enough to rip apart easily.
My wife and I always enjoy our dinner s hear . Great menu and atmosphere. They have the"Most Excellent" Chicken Soup. This is what they are known for. Highly recommend this place. One of the hidden treasures in Escondido

Some items are great.. some not quite as good for me. It is always packed out tho, so I say give it a try! I am not a flour tortilla eater but, my family says the burritos and quesadillas are great!!
5 star rating for the chicken soup. I've never had anything else, so definitely a limited review. It's delicious though!!!!
The chicken soup was amazing, even the following morning. Chunks of avocado added to the delicious chicken broth really sealed the deal. I could have used a bit more broth and less chicken meat, but they really do give you an extremely hearty soup
Friendly serviceyou order up front, take a number to your table & they bring it to youthey sell both American & Mexican beer, but no margaritas. Good food, descent sized portions :)
So amazing!! My favorite is the chicken taco soup. It cures the common cold, I'm sure of it! At least makes you feel better. Their food is great, their salsas are on point and their pickled carrots and onions are really good and unique- it was the first time I've had that and now I'm a fan. I enjoy coming here.
After getting excited about the amount of stellar reviews of this place, to include their world famous chicken soup, I ran right over to order a takeout smorgasbord. Tacos of every meat available, California burrito, enchiladas, and a tub of the soup. SUPER disappointed. The soup consisted of broth, and a few measly pieces of rice and anemic little shreds of chicken. Meats were not flavorful. Taco shells were gross - like they'd either been fried over a few times to seem hotter and fresher, or had been fried too long in stale, old oil. Certainly wasn't the worst I've ever had, but would not go back.
Lourdes is definitely known for their chicken soup (which is excellent) but all the food Ive had is just as good if not better. The whole menu is pretty legit. Lives up to the hype.
Best chicken soup in town. Best thing to do here is order to go. During the cold season there is a long line, and as you can guess people are standing in line with the sniffles waiting for that home remedy chicken soup. Perhaps a drive thru would be good for this place?
