Great place, crowded on weekends during season. Picnic area free.
Fun ranch, good place to bring the family for a day. Killer view of the maintains from the ranch field.
Homemade BBQ ribs. Great !!!!
And good selection of different food items. Pasta, sauces, bakery, etc.
Apples a little bit expensive for having their own farm. That's why I'm giving 4 stars. Have better apples and price in any Palm Springs supermarket.
Very Peaceful Walk through Mother Nature. The Dogs even enjoyed it.
I fun place to hike, pick apples and enjoy the day with the family! Lots of parking and very good bbq!
Bring your own food. Waited literally an hour in line for BBQ, then waited another two hours for our food to come up. With four hungry kids, this ends up being not funny at all. The BBQ chicken sandwich was just grim. Boiled diced dry chicken on a bun with a slice of cheese. Ghastly. Was going to have ribs, but they'd run out. The people running the grill do not know how to scale. Plus, the berry tart that I purchased literally had mold on it. (Photo attached.) There's a lot about this place to like, but they don't know how to do crowd management, so on a busy day the experience is just ruined. How about tickets? How about reservations? How about extra staff? Something's gotta give, because on Fall weekends, this is a fail.
The store is very scenic and cute. I love the set up and the vibe. it reminded me or my local apple store back in New England. Even down the the taxidermy moose head. That said, a gallon of apple cider is nearly $15!!! To be fair, it is like that in most of oak glen but really, I'm from new England where even the best apple cider doesn't exceed $7 a gallon at the very highest! So that's a tough pill to swallow.
They were very friendly and I think next time we'll try the restaurant for lunch, which was very cute and that might add an extra star to the experience. Right now it was kind of short.
What really made this a fun time was the Oak Glen Preserve which is literally right next door where you can do all the hikes you want but for us, we did the short children's trail that leads to some ponds and water fountains, which is my son's favorite thing.
Don't get me wrong I had fun, but most of these rate 3 stars as average, and that's what this was for Oak Glen. If it was in LA it's be a 5.
Correction and Edit: I received a phone call from Rebekah just now and she explained that she didn't appreciate the review, so I will make some corrections. We booked and submitted the deposit in February, not November. We also were emailed about local areas, but Rebekah still stated that the couples should figure this stuff out before booking. Oh, and the reason for the 1 star? Because I have never in my 15 years in the customer service industry, have had anyone call me and basically threaten me to change my review or they will edit it and call me out on lies. I stated that maybe I was off on the date we booked and you did offer, but she then continued to say a ton of stuff is disappointing and I even exclaimed that the main reason for the low rating was how she took us cancelling very personally. I'm in salesit bugs me when people cancel the last minute, but I never take it personally and never tell a customer how disappointed or how it's ruining everything. I wish them well and let them know if I can help in any way in the future or if any of their friends need my services, I am here to help.
I literally am heated right now at how this woman claims that I cannot treat her and her family like this. I get it, it's bad we cancelled and I am sorry, but it's business life.
Oh, and she never said about taking the full balance, but I was stating that if you do pay the full balance, and then you have to cancel before the window deadline, I'm GUESSING it might be difficult to get things worked out.
Best advice for this place? Only book if you're 1000% sure you're going to do it here and heaven forbid you have to cancel, or they will lecture you how you have treated them and their staff poorly after they have been there so much for you.
Oh, and just to give you an idea of how much they have been there? 16 emails and a few phone calls. I literally call another venue, and they offer the same "personal" treatment for $200 cheaper.
And before Rebekah calls me angrily again, yes this may be bad form, but that is the life of social media and reviews. If you don't like it, than you may want to look at another industry because one day you will piss someone off and they will talk about their poor experience. It's people's nature.
They sell the best Arkansas black apples. I love their holiday festivities! They have to much to do there such as wagon rides, tours, petting zoo, and making your own cider. We go a couple times a year and never had a bad experience.
Fun place to take the family for a picnic & nature walk. There's a petting zoo in the summer amd seasonal fruit picking.
Like many places up here in Oak Glen, this is an extremely family-friendly Park with many facets and places to eat walk and Recreation hikes. There is a petting zoo, and wonderful Bakery all sorts of seating areas and don't miss the flower garden when it's in season.
Can and does get to capacity on some weekends. I feel very lucky to be able to utilize it in the daytime since I live only a little ways away.
We came to Oak Glen to pick apples on a Friday, and this was the only ranch allowing U-Pick from their orchards on a Friday -- so kudos to Los Rios for letting those of us who work on weekends to have a chance to come pick some apples! :) They only had red delicious apples available for picking, but they were indeed red, and quite delicious (not too sweet, but they have a good crunch).
The store has a great variety of products. They let you sample the unsweetened apple butter (no added sweetener is necessary!), and the apple cider -- both of which, I highly recommend. I definitely will be back to visit this ranch again next time I come by Oak Glen.
