Technical climbs at Lori on MTB. Wether your trail running or hiking its beautiful up high and the forests offer retreat from heat. Great views. Go early early, it gets crowded.
THIS place is the BEST park of ALL parks that I have EVER been to, if you Love geology, love science, or love God. If you get all three? A rare combination; then THIS is the place for you! [Hint: you have to THINK a lot, and you have to pay attention to detail]
I love the green environment. The beautiful scenery is just to die for. I will always bring my brown dog barney along for the ride. Every time I come here I meet a new animal or a new friend. We will be back year after year. Thank you!
Great trails. I love volunteering here with the education programs. The geology and history of the park is fascinating.
All photos are my own.
Great trails, beautiful flowers, wildlife, and views on the uppers trails to the west. Thankful to have such a beautiful place to ride my horses and run. Worth the price of daily admission, or purchase and yearly pass
Very pretty. Great view of the front range. My son and I went fishing and caught several sun perch. You can see a lot of wildlife, deer, hawks, geese, coyotes. Great hiking trails. If in the Ft. Collins area, worth the time to visit.
It is very beautiful and quiet. It you are looking for a place to hike or bike, I would definitely recommend it. If you bring a vehicle, you don't get to see as much, and there is a $7 pass that you much purchase for the day.
Beautiful location, lots of parking, picnic areas, and restrooms. Easy access, variety of scenery, good for mountain biking, horseback riding, and hiking. One of my favorite spots!
Of ALL the parks, National, State, County, or City THIS has been my favorite since I was a kid.. at the East side of the end of the road, on the East side of the parking lot, don't miss the valley trails, don't miss a CLOSE look at the weird, large purplish rock. It is conglomerate rock. On close inspection, you will see a PERFECT ancient streambed. you can see the change in streamflow year by year. See if you can see the spot where something seems to have pressed its (foot?) Into the stream.. magical!
Conveniently located just outside of Fort Collins, this park is a great place to spend the day. Waterfalls, tons of flora and fauna, and well maintained trails. Northern Colorado is the best!
A big park with lots of trails (beginner to advanced hikers). Some trails allow only hikers and dogs on leash, while others allow horses and/or mountain bikes. There are a lot of picnic sites and spots for hunting/fishing. Great park to spend a day at!
It kinda sux to pay six dollars to park, but there are really nice hiking trails back there. You can make a whole day of it. They also have maps at the beginning to the trails.
It's great that they allow dogs on leash on the park trails! Our dog loved it and had a great time exploring. Bring bags with you for your dog/s!
I've only used this place for Mt biking but the tower road is an amazing workout which leads to awesome single tracks down. It's a great blend of uses that all come together quite harmoniously. Horses, bikers and hikers sharing the same terrain poses a certain set of difficulties but they pull it off well here next to the water. They don't offer camping here but despite that this is still a super awesome state park I. A wonderful location.
