I work a busy schedule, all week long, and I'm always the first one to sacrifice my time for others. It's difficult for my wife and I to synch up our schedules to do things like get a Christmas tree.
I called Little Switzerland to see if I could find some information out about their farm, and when we could pick up a tree, ect.
The owner told me he was too busy for me, and hung up. That was the entirety of the conversation. He's too busy for me, at Christmas time, when I've already sacrificed the day I would have had to get a tree for the sake of another.
The inhumanity and lack of care is staggering. I'm simply blown away.
It was a wonderful and personable experience, they were great with kids, and very friendly. Will be going back next year.
I can't express how hospitable the owners are and how beautiful their trees are. What an amazing experience!!
Love this tree farm!
Tips: Print a coupon from their website for extra savings & take boots with good traction! It can get a little messy when you're looking for the perfect Christmas tree :). Also check their website for the exact GPS coordinates (or use Waze by entering the name of the tree farm.). When you get off of the main interstate and you are near the Blue ridge parkway, you will begin to see discreet little white signs that will have a small red box and a white cross. Follow the signs or give them a call before you go. Cell service isn't that great in the mountains.
This farm is adorable and very inviting. The family dog is docile and welcoming but he's secured. ,,,,Just in case dogs aren't your thing.
Check-in by signing their waiver, grab a whistle (shrink wrapped) and a pole and head off to find your tree. Once you think you've found the perfect one, blow your whistle and they will be right there to cut down your tree for you. If you like, you can have your picture made with your tree before they "bag" it for the ride home. Grab free hot chocolate or cider while they secure your tree and that's it! They also sell fresh wreaths, and fudge.
Very nice family owned farm and a pleasant experience all around! This was our 2nd visit and we hope to make this a tradition for our family.
Thanks Little Switzerland!
Great place!
