Very pleased with the work performed on my classic car. After a lifetime of building classic and hotrod cars age has forced me find a shop willing to repair my classic car.
Lindsay transmission repaired my 68 year classic car to a condition I am not afraid to drive to car events.
I would recommend Lindsay transmission for late model and classic car repair.
I am proud to be a customer of Lindsay transmission.
5 stars!
Took my 08 Tundra into Lindsay transmission to try and fix a nuisance transmission light. Rarely, when cold, the truck would not shift past 3rd gear. Kit diagnosed the problem and recommended a fix. After a few parts and $1,300 in repairs i was out the door. A few weeks after picking up the truck, less than 500 miles, the truck continued with the same lights on the dash and symptoms as before. Kit was generous enough to drive 30 minutes where i live to pick the truck up and take a second look. After looking it over racking up a couple hundred miles on my truck they diagnosed that the transmission fluid was a quart low. Got the truck back and shortly after the truck was back there with the same symptoms. Kit ended up telling me i would need to take it to a dealer that it would need a computer and they didn't have the equipment to program one. I was a bit upset after throwing money away and Lindsay transmission washing their hands of the problem. Turns out, after going to the dealership, the computer just needed to be re flashed and Lindsay Transmission overfilled the fluids by over 2 quarts. The work that they had done did not work and made the problem worse by over filling the transmission. I gave Lindsay Transmission 2 stars because the shop is presentable and Kit seems knowledgeable. Disappointed that they just threw parts at my truck, hoping to fix it, at my expense.
Great place wouldn't take my card anywhere else
My transmission shifter cable broke, and within 24 hours of have the truck dropped off, I got word back from the owner letting me know what he found for the cause, and I had the truck back and fully operational 3 business days later. Kit kept me in the loop the whole time letting me know what was going on with the repair process, and exactly what it was going to cost me so that there were no surprises.
I wouldn't take a vehicle anywhere else for automatic transmission work.
Was in a time crunch. Stopped in because of a squeak in my U-Joint. Figured I'd need to make an appointment. Kit took my truck for a test drive, lifted it up, diagnosed the problem, and replaced the u-joint within an hour. Excellent customer service, and explanation of what was going on with my truck. Highly impressed.
I was having problems with my 2009 Chevy Traverse's transmission. I went B and D transmission in Warrensburg to get an estimate. He quoted me 3500 to fix it. So I took my 2009 Chevy Traverse to Lindsey Transmission for a second opinion and once checking out the transmission he called me to inform me the car was under a warranty recall for the transmission issues i was having. He suggested i take it to a dealership so i could have it repaired for free instead of having to pay him to fix it. I couldn't have been more impressed with an individual. I was trying to save a buck by going to a lesser shop and I found an honest mechanic at Lindsey Transmisson instead that saved me alot of money.
I had Lindsay's put a clutch in my Corolla. Kit, the owner, is very friendly and not at all intimidating, as some mechanics can be. He was very courteous and respectful The whole time. My impression is that they are honest and are providing quality service. The whole transaction was flawless and smooth from start to finish and the car feels great. I did, however, drop them a star for up charging for the use of credit card. I can't blame them for doing it, but I wish the receptionist would have mentioned it when she called, as I ultimately wasted a trip in light of never carrying my check book. I would intentionally inform people at the time of check in, as that may pose a problem for someone who didn't have the cash. Very pleased with my service overall and would absolutely recommend them!
I took my truck in with several issues this morning which seemed to point to several issues the most sever was clutch pack failure, common to my model and year of truck. Kit was not satisfied though as that did not match all the symptoms. A little testing and he determined that a failed transfer case sensor was the true root cause. This was literally less than 1/10th the cost of repairs of the transmission. Very happy with the service and integrity I experienced.
Could not ask for a better experience with a mechanic. Been almost two years and not a single problem since. Its nice to be able to trust someone to do it right at a right price with no games. Thanks again guys.
