It was the third time we came to Liberty Tax Service. The line in the office was long, and only two specialists were working. The qualification of the specialist was very questionable. She told us that our son can't be added as a dependent (even though we had no problems before, and they have all our info in their system). After an hour of trying, we left. The same evening my husband filed our taxes himself without incident.

I filed my taxes with them this year again because last year's experience was awesome. Maybe I wasn't aware of last year how much they charged me to file my taxes, but this year it came out to be $1,091. They tell you to sign a paper and that fees will be charged but they never tell you how much. On top of that if you select the option for a check instead of direct deposit you will receive a check from Liberty's account instead of a check from the actual IRS. This is where most of their unknown deductions take place after they print you a check or direct deposit to your account from their bank. I called this place 3 different times to speak out about my concern and each time I called, I was told "Well my manager is not in right now please call back later." Maybe its just me. Go read your tax return or just ask for a firm price on exactly what you're being charged for.
