Absolutely wonderful meal and our new favorite in Vail. The octopus is Devine and the cauliflower couscous healthy and tasty. The kids loved the pizza. The value for Vail is outstanding and the wine list quite reasonable. Wonderful service and quiet enough to converse.

The two-year-old Sebastian hotel in the heart of Vail Village is picking up steam with Leonora, a new restaurant concept that opened on December 1. Leonora is the next evolution of the property's once signature restaurant, Block 16, and offers Alpine-inspired bistro fare, tapas and an exquisite wine bar. Chef Sergio Howard prepares dishes such as Serrano ham and cheese croquetas and lobster pot pie with heirloom vegetables. The restaurant has a 1,000-bottle strong Wine Silo central to the dining room.

We were very excited when we walked to find such an elegant and tasteful atmosphere. But the positive vibes stopped there. The service was slow and confused to start. The menu was non-descriptive, and it took about 40 minutes just to get our salads. When our food finally got there, it was cold, overcooked, and tiny portions. All this was disappointing, but it made it especially bad when considering the outrageous price. The staff made an attempt to reconcile the poor product but dealt with situation very awkwardly.
