One word for Budget Host: NASTY!

It was about July 2017 I checked in at 10:30AM the Office person Judy or Jennifer i'm not sure gave an attitude to us for forgetting our items for check in. She said to hurry up because were wasting her time.

    Hallways where filthy and smelly.

I bought a suite for me and my other family members.
The sofa bed was broken. it was stuck when I tried opening.
I can tell the room was not cleaned at all.
It looked like they only wiped a couple items.
When we left the hotel to explore lancaster my friends said it would be nice if we stayed at the Wingate next to Budget Host inn. I agreed but it was our first time checking.

When we got back we went to sleep because the early next morning we would go to Hershey Park. Around 11pm some people in the halls were outside playing music the parents did not supervise the kids they kept banging on our door. For the rest of the night I could not sleep.Next morning we woke up and it was 8AM the Breakfast room was locked and closed. when the hours are from 7AM-9AM she said you are late for the food. So we ended up going to the Econo Lodge near the hotels. We left because it was a terrible stay.

If you willing to see this one the web, I would first look at the reviews
Next time I come to lancaster were going to Wingate.

Are you kidding me? This hotel was not a good option, compared to a motel this one was worse. There was no service for cleaning sheets or pillow cases, and my parents slept in sheets covered in blood. A woman at the front desk named Judy gave my mother additude while she politely told her that there was blood on our sheets and Judy said that the hotel was " not a full service" hotel. She was awfully rude and very disrespectful. The carpet was dry and dirty with food and crums all over, especially under the bed, the pool was nice, but the indoor waterpark was false advertising. The waterpark was $12 a person PER DAY !! So I don't reccomend this hotel to anyone that needs a cheap room because there was no effort put into these rooms.

Dated hotel, but very nice. Great value. Has everything an expensive hotel has for half the price.

The continental breakfast and the pool were a hit with my family. Breakfast was real make your own Belgian waffles, eggs, sausage, fruits, yogurt, cereal, bagels, toast, pastries, coffee, tea, and juices - so yummy and awesome, get there early! The pool was clean and indoors, perfect and fun in October! The room could use some updating but was what I expected for the price. Overall, I'd stay here again. Kids liked the water park too - costs extra, but next time I'd just use the included indoor pool since the kids spent most of their time there anyway.

The rooms are OK, nothing special. Our room was clean. The best part was the "Water Park" It's nothing like Great Wolf Lodge or Kalahari in the Poconos by ANY means, but it is nice and my kids (10 yr old twin boys & 4 yr old little boy) had a blast. It's nice that it's on the smaller scale because you can easily keep an eye on your children. Overall I say for the price it's a good place for an overnight stay, I definitely wouldn't stay there for a week, a night or too on a budget it's fine.

First time staying here and we will definitely go back. The kids had a blast at the waterpark. The breakfast was amazing waffles, eggs, sausage, toast, bagels, muffins and cereal is offered for breakfast. Close to the outlets and other shops and restaurants. Great family hotel.

I've never actually noped out of a hotel room before this place.

The room was disgusting. If I were to ask someone to draw me a picture of a seedy hotel room, I would get something a little better than what my room looked like.

There was clear evidence of bed bugs on the mattress, the carpet was littered with cigarette burns. The furniture was damaged to the point of being almost unusable. A chair was literally cut open, exposing the stuffing underneath.

There were mysterious stains everywhere. Well, I wish them to remain a mystery. The carpet, the walls, the chair cushion, the corners of the room - covered with stains.

    Avoid this place.

Good rooms, large and clean. Pool very good but no supervision so other children run wild - not mine (joke). Gets very noisy. But front desk staff exceptional. Overall very helpful. Breakfast was very good with good sausages and 4 waffle stations. It got very crowded after 8.

I notified the hotel that my husband and I are handicapped. We were told that we were being assigned the suite that was 2 doors down from the water park. I told them that would be greatly appreciated. Upon arrival, we were instructed to park at the opposite end of the parking lot and enter through Door B. To my shock there were 5 steps to navigate and NO HANDRAIL! I almost lost my balance and fell going up the steps. Very scary. We proceeded to our room only to find it was at the end of the hall opposite from the water park. I even had a stranger ask if I needed help getting to the end of the hall. We were there for our 2 grandchildren (ages 4 and 9) so we didn't want to complain and make a scene in front of them. That night we had a hard time falling asleep because of the children running around in the room above us. We did make a call to the front desk and they said they would take care of it. Also there were 2 teenage girls sitting on the floor immediately outside our room. We opened the door and politely asked them to move elsewhere. A half hour later we fell asleep. Sleep did not last for long because the heating unit/AC unit was very loud. All of this and I haven't gotten to my main complaint yet. Here we are at a water park that is connected to the hotel. We planned to visit the water park, go to our room and eat and rest, and then return to the water park. However, there is not a single dryer to use to dry our suits. We had to put on our wet, cold suits to return to the water park! Seems the Budget Host could invest in a few dryers. I am sure it would make its guests happier.
