The place is pretty run down and the concession area is small and confusing. They do allow smoking which is very unfortunate. Also, like most venues it is a nightmare trying to get out after the show is done.

It's a great place, clean, but the fact that smoking is allowed is a big turn off. The smell of weed wafts through the air consistently. People NON-STOP throughout the shows and it makes me sick to my stomach. A no smoking rule would be greatly appreciated.

We've been to Lakewood twice now and fully enjoyed both experiences. Parking is free (don't get fooled by the roadside lots that charge) and you can tailgate before a show which is awesome. Both times we've visited we got through the gates quickly and found good spots on the lawn without effort. There's plenty of bathroom stalls so I never had to wait to use the restroom. Plus they offer a bottle of wine in a closeable container for $36ish so that's pretty awesome.

Okay venue, however, not as nice as Wolf Creek Amphitheater. My recommendations for attending an event here:

    1. Purchase your parking pass in advance
    2. Be mindful of what you bring
    3. Arrive early

And, for those with lawn tickets

    4. Wear comfortable shoes
    5. Bring a blanket
    6. Be prepared to pay to rent a chair

Unless and until they fix the parking situation, the best I can do is 3 stars. I will not go back to Lakewood. We got there an hour early but still missed the first 2 bands waiting in traffic to park. And this was on a Sunday with no traffic otherwise. We even had "reserved VIP" parking, but couldn't get to the lot. The venue is fine, sound is good, decent (but outrageously-priced, 3x normal prices) food and drink options.

Parking and traffic are a nightmare!! Then the lines move at a snails pace! We have been three times just this summer and each time we all agree not to go back! Well, this was the last straw!! Paying for VIP parking doesn't really matter, except that the chevron across the street runs a scam and takes your money then has you towed so he and the tow truck guy make tons of money off of all of the people when they hold your car hostage! Then you trek up hill to wait in a massive line! Even if you paid extra for fast lane or whatever, that means nothing! There is no difference, everyone waits the same and go in at the same time. Which is super slow! Then there is no security in the lawn areas! There were two fights in front of the concession stand at the match box 20 concert and no security anywhere! This use to be a great place to enjoy some outdoor music in the summer but it has really just been let go!

Attended the Chance the Rapper concert on this past Sunday with some friends and we had an overall pretty good experience. It did seem a little unorganized when it came to what line was the fast lane lines and which were the regular lines. But the flow of the line was pretty steady once they started letting people in to the venue. The staff was super nice and willing to help make sure you got to your correct seats. The only thing that I think they should have better staffing for is the parking. We parked 2 blocks away at a church only b/c I had heard of so many horrible story's about parking in the VIP parking lot.

Very unorganized staff and very OVERPRICED water and drinks. Blink 182 was AWESOME as well as the other groups that opened for them. The actual Lakewood Amphitheatre Box office Staff as well as the staff throughout the venue were unorganized and many unwilling to help. I will NOT return there for an event!

I came here for the Laid Back Fest. I had access to VIP which made everything quicker and easier. Good venue. Great strawberry daiquiris.

I had great seats and even though it was over 90 degrees, it really didn't feel like it. The covered area had huge ceiling fans that produced a nice cooling breeze. There was also a great variety of food and vendors for the event. I would definitely attend future concerts there.

This was my first time at this venue and I was surprised at how vast it was. I saw one of my favorite bands and they didn't disappoint but we did get rained on since we didn't get the more expensive seats under the pavilion. The sound was good, though there was a speaker popping which was annoying on the louder songs. I will definitely go back. The parking lost was large and seemed safe even though the neighborhood was sketch at best. I would suggest eating beforehand if you want something other than pizza or snacks.
