Good convenient service, John Rich's but too few between New York and Vermont so the ferry service is great.

Was a little bit scared to take a ferry and kind of sceptical. The ride was very smooth, although the water was a little bit shaky and it was very cold (-30 degrees Celsius). Staff was nice and helpful.

Crossing the lake at Essex means the beginning or end of a wonderful time on the lake. The staff is always friendly. The scenery is beautiful, a lovely 30 min ride

Generally good experience. One time I was the lone car in one lane that paid before the other vehicles and the attendant had his back to me. He started to let others in, when they motioned to him that I was next, he turned his back on me and told them to go. However, another attendant pointed and said something to him and then he waved me onto the ferry.

It's a CAR FERRY!!! They have an ATM at the docks, wich is ridiculously convenient, clean bathrooms, and a snack bar on the way across the gorgeous lake. This is by far the fastest route across the lake, you will not save time or money by trying to drive around the lake

Good price and beautiful lake vistas. Fast, timely and reliable. No motion or rocking on huge boat. Great daily schedule until 930 pm! The Essex staff are surly, but the ship mates are friendly and helpful. Good value and experience.
