I doubt this place will ever change. They seem to have the right stuff to keep churning out truckloads of paella. Fish tacos are some of the best around.
Great place to sit, chill, watch passing traffic while enjoying great tasting Cuban - TexMex menu options. Nice hospitality from staff. Plentiful parking in well-lighted back lot with security cameras.
Great food and always fast service! My favorite is the steak tacos. The steak is good quality and packed with flavor. They top it off with some sauce that blends really well. They place can get a little noisy during busy hours but overall a great place for lunch or dinner.
Perfect place to enjoy a Cuban-Mexican cuisine in a lively environment with pleasant Spanish music. The ambiance is great with an option to sit in an open setting with nicely decorated lights n plants. Tried the house specialty 'Paella Con Verduras' - vegetables (quite a few) cooked with a curry - it had a savory taste. The menu had lot of options for vegetarians like me which I appreciate. Free chips n salsa were flavorsome as usual. Less expensive compared to the Mexican restaurants in the area. Would recommend to anyone looking to try different Mexican food in a relaxing place.
I love everything about La Fonda.
The chips and salsa (free) are great.
The food is great. (veggie tacos are my favorite, rice and beans are notorious)
The atmosphere is great, clean.
The service is quick and efficient.
It’s crazy cheap.
They have a gum ball machine.
Isn't a real Cuban Restaurant. I'm 200% Cuban and this restaurant doesn't represent all our food menu. It's more Mexican food than Cuban. The owner is from Spain, he should know it. I'm really offended because this place doesn't offer all our amazing culture and food.
Been coming here since 2010 and it just keeps getting better. Great seating inside sand outside. The frozen margaritas and chips and salsa rule! Big fan of the chicken and rice plate beaucse the seasoned rice is so good.
The service is what makes me give it 3 stars. They are not the friendliest and they typically get my order wrong.
Food gets a 4/5 stars. The chicken and rice soup is so good. Add the lime and it's my go to for when I'm sick. My kids love their black beans and rice.
La Fonda may be the best thing on this part of town. Even though the service is stretched thin on Saturday's, the wait is totally worth it. My friend who has family from Cuba even said this reminds him of grandmas cooking. The food here is so delicious, and the portions are to be taken serious. Also very affordable! Definitely recommended!
I’ve been here a handful of times over the past few years and I’ve seen this location become steadily more busy with the growth of the west side of Atlanta. They have a good patio but it doesn’t seem to be used in the winter time so be aware of that if you bring a group on a Saturday night. My go to is the seafood paella.
I've been here several times. Food is usually pretty good. Today, I tried the Cuban sandwich and was very disappointed. I thought the sandwich at least the meat would be hot. It wasn't. The bread wasn't warm either. The black beans and rice were not hot either. I'll definitely return but I'll stay away from this item.
Horrible experience here with a party of 6 First it seemed our waiter didn't want to take our order and then once he did it took him some time to bring out the drinks. We then ordered our food and it took a whole hour for it to get to the table. The best part is it came in waves so one person got their food then 5 mins later another person did and so on and so on. When my meal came out the food was cold. The saving grace, if there was one, is the busser kept our chips and salsa full.
