The meal was incredible. Each dish was inventive and flavorful. What really wowed was the way they were able to use ingredients in ways I had never had before. The roasted beet crepe with hazelnut pesto was particularly interesting. The wine pairings were also outstanding. I have paid twice as much for a comparable meal at a michelin starred restaurant in NYC. I think Lenoir would hold its own with any of them.
Great care is taken in the sourcing and the preparation of the food here. Meats are cooked appropriately, greens are fresh, the saucier is obviously well-trained, and the plating is elegant. Courses are brought out at a reasonably relaxed pace so you won't feel rushed and portions are perfectly sized so that I felt full (but not overly so) by the end of the meal.
Great service, beautiful atmosphere! Have a drink in the wine garden before you go in, it's a very romantic setting. Food was excellent! Our favorite dishes were the Egg Tomal Salad and Snapper. We would definitely go again!!
We had an amazing dinner tonight at Lenoir! Super creative and delicious food - each course was better than the last. I love the concept of the three course meal, or six courses if you come with someone else and share 😉. From the food to the wine to the service, we thoroughly enjoyed everything!
We had a private chef's dinner with wine pairings. Four courses. Service was top notch, and the food was extraordinary. Our waiter, Jamel, is a full time music teacher, and pulled out his sax at the end of the night. A memorable experience.
A cozy restaurant, romantic and charming. My wife's birthday dinner: greeted with a happy b-day card signed by all the staffnice touch. Odd collection of wines by the glass, so hard to tell what you're ordering without asking for a taste (maybe a bit too esoteric?). Food is similarly eclectic. Some wild hits: Bread/ Ceviche/ Shrimp/ Fried Quail. Some complete misses: Pork (how can you mess up pork?-- needs to be taken off the menu). Service excellent & knowledgeable. Nice place for a date or special occasion. Expensive considering portion size is small plates. Biggest quible: everything but the communal table is a high top.
Lenoir seems such an unassuming place. The restaurant is very charming inside. We tried the three course menu which was very reasonably priced at $45. Service was great too. I tried melon ceviche, antelope heart and grilled halloumi. All the dishes were excellent and the bread was very fresh. Will definitely come back when I am in Austin.
Fine dining in Austin that manages to not be too pretentious. Farm to table quality with fresh menus that rotate regularly. We went down the list to try all of the entrees for the day, ranging from a simple ingredient elevated as much as possible (never has a blanched tomato tasted so sweet) to more complex presentations. My only gripe was that the stars of meal are started to come up front; the meat main courses were not particularly memorable (venison heart, pork with kimchi) and the desserts ended up being a bit disappointing as well. Definitely interested in coming back to see what else the menu can offer.
I couldn't say enough good things about this restaurant. It's a culinary delight with a particularly romantic ambience. The staff and chef were friendly and accommodating.
Girlfriend and I had dinner here tonight for our 4th anniversary together. The food was spectacular. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and was portioned perfectly for two people to split six different entrees.
They even gave us a card wishing us a happy anniversary, signed by all the staff,
We will definitely be back, highly recommend to anyone.
Pro tip, if you are taking a date make a reservation for a table for two like we did, otherwise you are likely to have to have less privacy and sit next to another group at the bar top or communal table
Came for a night out. Dining area only seats 32 individuals. Delightful flavors! The green curry with the tile fish was spicy and warm and the snapper dish (ceviche) was bright and refreshing with cilantro. Bathroom had local Austin wallpaper with a retro twist so I took a photo of that.
It's amazing that this kind of quality is available (still) for the price they charge. I love being surprised every time I come in to see what else I've never tried and may now love. The owners used to work at the Four Season's and the quality is up to par (above IMHO). A little hard to get in, but it's worth the wait.
Charming small house turned into restaurant. Chic decor with private high tables, bar seating, or a communal farmhouse table. Choose from 3 plates each to share or have all to yourself. This is a great into to a tasting menu for those who feel intimidated by one. They do wine pairings too. We opted to arrive for their happy hour for 1/2 off bottle of wine on their beautiful patio outside then head to a walk-in dinner inside. The service was excellent and food was very good. I'd like to come back again when we're in the neighborhood.
As a designer, I love how they used reclaimed elements to craft an elegant, warm, eclectic interior. We ordered from the prix fix menu with the addition of the butternut squash rye bread. All our courses were excellent. The staff were professional and friendly without being pretentious. We came for our 20th anniversary dinner, and everyone signed a card to us. We will be back.
