  "Customer states the alternator is going out -- obviously has no clue what he is talking about"
  
  Bottom line: I needed a new alternator; I paid $600 to be treated like an idiot; and Kings lost a customer.

  King's Auto in Coralville are a bunch of con artists. They tried ripping off one of our kids telling him he needed his ABS brakes (which his truck doesn't have) needed adjusting and told him his brake hoses were bad and leaking (which they aren't) and that the calipers need adjusted (that type of caliper doesn't have an adjuster). And they wanted to charge him $650 for that, which had nothing to do with the front end issue he brought the truck in for, on top of the $500 they wanted for the work he wanted done. AVOID KINGS AUTO!

  Service was super fast, I was immediately consulted concerning any changes in the diagnosis/repair, and everybody I worked with (Nick, Aaron, and Justin) was extremely courteous. Every question I asked - mechanical or price-related - was answered to my complete satisfaction.
  I will be coming here with any and all of my future automotive needs.

  I don't wanna give a one star since there wasn't much to my experience. I brought my car in, expecting transmission troubles, but hoping for a better outcome. They called back within a day. I go back to hear the bad news, but they didn't have anything to tell me. They said it was probably the transmission, but they had to look into it more. I just decided to give up on the car, so I asked for the keys back, and they charged me almost $60. $60 to tell me nothing more than what most semi-intelligent people could deduce.

  Very helpful and service oriented. They did quality work and I felt like I was informed about what my car needed and what they did for it. They seem very honest and forthcoming.
  
  I am relatively mechanically inclined, and it was clear to me that they know what they are doing.
