The sailboats are well maintained, and Paul, the owner is a super nice guy. I got a great sailing lesson; the instructor stayed with me way past the 2 hour lesson so I really learned a ton! The cottages are a bit dated but clean and well maintained. You get an awesome sunset from the tiki hut! Some of the sailing destinations are amazing, especially if you bring kayaks in tow.
Owners cottage was awesome. Staff was great. Sailing everyday in beautiful weather what more could you ask for
My family and I spent 5 days in the Captains Cottage in July 2017. Although we had a great time while we there, we have never received our deposit refund. My wife and I have reached out to them multiple times through email and phone calls, but they have never responded. It's a real shame. We were wanting to make this a place where we could come back again and again, but that will no longer happen. I will not be tricked into losing a deposit again.
Waterfront resort? Resort??? It is a boat junkyard. And don't expect anybody to fix anything.
The staff and owners really care about your experience. From day we booked our vacation we have been in constant contact with us answering any questions we have had. We arrived yesterday after a bad rain storm the day before. My party was a little larger then we expected bringing my wife's little sisters. We were prepared to sleep where we could. Lol the staff moved us to a larger cottage with more beds without us asking. It's the simple things in life that shows how people care. We will return. It's only been one day. From all the many youtube videos I've seen about the keys, this little hideaway views will take your breath away.
We loved it. Very quiet and downscale. I lived in the Bahamas for 10 years, and this reminded me of home. If you are looking for shiny and new, full service and fancy, maybe not for you. But the room was clean, the staff friendly and available, and plenty of water toys. We enjoyed meeting the other guests out on the dock in the evening as they fished or sat on their boats. Did I mention quiet and no crowd?
To sum things up quickly, we rented the Owner's cottage. The sliding door into the cottage did not have privacy blinds and had a cheap lock for security, living room blind blades were broken, living room lazy-boy recliners were worn and broke, 2" coach roach in the bathroom, ants in the kitchen, cottage in dire need of renovation, only tepid water came from hot water faucet in bathroom (with cold faucet turned off), my 17 yr old son received a 1" gash over his eye brow from the bunk ladder hanging over the bed, the sailboat was in good shape but main sail didn't fit the mast.. I would not recommend
We had a great time and will be back. We kayaked the mangroves in the rain and sailed in the sun. There were a couple things that needed repair but C.J. and staff fixed everything immediately. The cabins were great and we have already booked our return trip.
My family and I came here an only were able to stay for 2 nights but we made the most of our time. The cabins are extremely cute and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We took out every single water toy they had. What a fun time for anyone that likes water toys! We are already planning on going back and staying for a week.
I left a deposit on July 13 for a cottage for my softball team for the weekend of August 5. The tournament was cancelled so I ask for a refund and they told me they were going to charge me 75 dollars cancellation and that they cant refund my deposit to my credit card that they will send me a check, which I said that was fine. I have called they don't return my calls. They also said I will have the check in 2 weeks for my 500 dollars and now its September 23 and they have not send me my check and have not returned my call.
I am not the one to right a bad review but I have no choice cause its been almost 2 months and no answer.
If you like or want to learn more about sailing, Key Lime is the place for you! The cottages aren't fancy, but are comfortable! The bay view is amazing and they provide 22 Catalina's for guests who already know how to sail. If you don't, you can join one of the ASA courses (also provided here!) and learn what you need to start taking the sail boats out! Great staff and good restaurants around!
