Still in recovery from Irma, Susan who was the volunteer at the entrance was pleasant, informative a credit to the Park. Interesting walk, well maintained and great to see it growing.

There are nice trails here and it's great that this property was saved from development, but it's not what you might think of when you hear 'botanical', as in botanical gardens. Here botanical is more about trees and some other rare species in their natural habitat, but not flowers, flowers everywhere in cultivated sections. Just up the road from John Pennekamp State Park, it's worth a visit.

Dropped $5 in, walked 200 ft. and was acosted by dozens of mosquitos. Even saturated in bugspray.. turned around and never enjoyed it. At least they could do some bug control back here.

Has some bike trails with no car traffic. Some are unpaved trails. Midweek is least busy. Ride fast or bring bug spray. Winter months are the best times to walk the trails. Make sure your dog is leashed else it could be eaten by pythons.

Like other told: „First you should know the map they give you is totally useless. It's missing all trails and extra roads so you will be confused on which way to go.“ This is the truth.
You can do a nice walk same as you can do in every other park. Maybe here are a little more butterflies and we saw a nice black snake. But that's it.

We met two lovely volunteers at the gate and they sent us on our way with a map. It was a nice walk but there were a few decision points that were not well marked on the map.
We brought a jogging stroller and the mildly bumpy non-paved portion of the trail lulled our 2year old to sleep. It took just under an hour to walk the full 2 mile loop.

Lovely unexpected park! This was slated to be a new development. It went bankrupt and the State acquired the land with the few newly paved roads with it. The park is very nice and I love that they left the evidence of what was meant to be part of the new development. Beyond that is beautiful trees and wildlife. We saw many birds and snakes on the trails. There is a bathroom available close to the entrance. They have a $2.50 entrance "honor" donation.
