I ordered the large Mocha Buddah wall art. The color is not even in the ballpark of the mocha that is depicted on the website in either of the pictures, nor can lighting variance reasonably account for the difference. I decided to buy this product because my father owns one and it looks like the pictures on the sitea shade of very dark brown, almost black in certain light, again, my "light brown" version is not even in the ballpark!
I emailed the owner and was happy to get a fast reply from him. He sent me information on the finish-type that the manufacturer uses so that I can go out..buy the finish..and refinish the product myself.
It took a second for it to sink in that I would be spending an afternoon trying to finish a huge piece of wood to make it look like the expectation set by the seller..and that really sucks!
Of course the owner of the company has caveated the hell out of his purchase agreement.yes I read it. The applicable stipulations are below my review.
In the seller agreement is says:
"The color, after finish is applied, will vary from the pictures depicted for every single piece."
Got it. 10-4. If your manufacturer is unreliable and the product varies as widely as in my case, AND you won't make your customers happy when the product looks dramatically different than your picturesthen my advice is post black and white pictures on your website and don't sell different "finishes"!
Of course the buddah is not returnable. Even if I was to return itI would have to pay a restocking fee!!!
My advice to anyone who wants to buy products from this seller is to assume that they are buying carvings that must be finished after purchase.
If you are going to buy the Mocha Buddah, here is the info for the finish you should go buy in advance so that when it arrives you can get to work making it look like the expectation set for you by the seller.
Livos 244-101 KUNOS-Naturöl-Siegel, Schwarz (Black)
"Items are natural products, some variations may occur, which make them unique. Depending on the country of origin of a tree, the heart wood color ranges from light reddish beige to dark reddish browns (sometimes with black swirls). Due to humidity, the wood ages and some small cracks appear in the grain over time depending on where you live. It's a little piece of life transported straight into your home. Direct sunlight can cause more checking on the ends (cracking), but simply rub in a wood preservative or wax to seal again and enjoy the beauty of one-of-a-kind piece! These are not acceptable reasons for a return. The color, after finish is applied, will vary from the pictures depicted for every single piece. This is because the oil is the same tone but the color of the underlying wood of the piece it is going on varies."
