Changing my original review. I was pretty annoyed my friend's one day in UT from the East coast was frustrating because we can never get that time back, but am happy the management reached out and was understanding about the situation. I can tell they value their customers. Thank you. Also changing the stars because of how cooperative they were after the fact. Looking back, that area is a great way to spend on a hot summer day and they do have plenty of rentals.
If management or owners read this, please rethink the people you currently have working for you. My friend was in town for work from GA and I wanted to show him some fun things in UT nearby. I drove him out to Park City for a few hours. There was a festival in Park City 9/3/17 and by the time we left, there was so much traffic we had a hard time getting out of downtown. We made it to the front desk at the rental place by 3:00, but had to wait in line for a few minutes. The lady at the counter (blonde woman) told me that we could still take our SUP's out but our lateness would cut into our time. I was disappointed to hear that, but figured there were people who had reservations after us that would need those paddle boards. Oh well.
She proceeded to talk to a kid who walked up after us and couldn't care less that our time was ticking. I finished the paperwork and she told me to bring our paper back to her promptly at 4:00 (Okay, geez, I got it, we're not allowed to use the boards past 4). She also told us to walk down to the boathouse where we would be helped by a gentleman.
When we got to the boathouse, we had to wait for the only guy on duty to help a group of passengers of of their boat rental and four others standing next to us. When we got to us, we told him we needed two SUP's. He said they're on the beach with the life jackets. He started to walk away and I asked how we would know to be back by 4. He seemed annoyed and said just for us to gage it and it's not like he could give us a watch or anything and walked away. I asked a simple polite question (because I was stressed out by the last employee about getting back in time) and he acted offended that I would ask such a thing. My friend and I were both quite taken back by his shortness with us.
When we got to the beach, I saw there were PLENTY of SUP's laying there and a few people coming in to return the ones they had been using. I get if they didn't have enough SUP's to use past when we reserved them, but why would they make such a HUGE deal about us being not right on time if they had multiple that weren't even being used??? And even on a VERY busy weekend.
On the other hand, policy is policy (even if I don't agree or understand that particular policy in this case), but rude and indifferent customer service is a whole other thing. The people who helped us were so disinterested and unfriendly, it put a huge damper on both out first times at Jordanelle. So in the end, I paid $45 plus $15 for the park entrance to be treated with rudeness and to spend 30 minutes on a paddleboard.
I love SUPing and next time I'll take my business elsewhere. Hopefully the one at deer creek isn't owned by the same company!
Great time out using their stand-up paddle boards with my wife. We will be back!
We were so disappointed. Our family reserved the fly board and drove all the way from Idaho to do it. We got there to do it and the fly board was broken. Then they lied and said they tried to call us but we could see from our past calls that they didn't. They are unorganized and unprofessional. If you can rent elsewhere you should.
Go Fly! While visiting Park City, we took some time to enjoy the beautiful Jordanelle State Park. Our three grandsons were thrilled to get to try the Fly-Diving offered by the marina. We purchased an hour's time and were able to split it between the three boys. The people were so helpful that even the youngest, a twelve-year old, was able to go "flying" in no time.
Rude management. From the get go when asking questions about the contact the front desk wasn't knowledgeable and just said " you just have to sign it" Our family came for a celebration from as far as Thailand and rented a boat, tubes, a trampoline and a wake boards. After the first run out our first group came back and said the boat was vibrating and making a weird sound ..after the second run the boat wouldn't gain speed so we came back to speak to them again.. this time accusations were made about damaging the boat and having "pictures" of our group bringing the boat too close to sure which wasn't accurate as we didn't bring the boat anywhere near the shore. We asked to see these pictures and they didn't have them. The manager said he saw us and knows his Boats as of that was sufficient enoughCome to find out there was a rope attached to the propeller from the previous renters and the other boats who were too close to sure not only weren't our boats but weren't even the same color/make/model as the boat we rented Not so much as even an apology was made. Our entire family and friends are either active military, reserves or retired military, we are all very responsible and simply came out to enjoy our time together we will no longer give this establishment our business because of how rude and unprofessional their management and team were.
Fair prices top of the line boats friendly informative employees
Clean Park and Facilities. Camping and daily activities. Ample parking. Fishing is hit or miss.
Rented stand up paddle boards. Overpriced. The people were nice and helpful. The equipment was not in great shape. No instruction or assistance. In retrospect we paid twice as much as we should have.
If your budgeting for a Jetski add an extra $20 for gas (per hour). They were charging about $4.50 a gallon. The Jetski I had was very sluggish, still fun but not that fast. I've rented before from other places and found these really slow in comparison. I missed that they charge an additional amount for gas so don't make the same mistake that I did.
I took my family to spend a day off playing with jet skis and we had a blast! The jet ski was in a very good condition and it was so powerful and well maintained. We decided to take turns of 2 to ride it each time for 4 HOURS and always when I was pulling it back to the marina, the crew was nice and friendly to help my family to get in and out of the jet ski always smiling at us. They offered us water and checked on us many times. 5 stars for JR&M and 10 for the crew.
