Johnny's holds a special place in my heart. I grew up around the area and used to come to Johnny's all the time as a kid. I hadn't been for years up until recently, and the fries are just as good as I remembered. The service is timely and the food quality is definitely higher than what you might expect. This establishment defines my Newton Center dining experiences, and I would recommend Johnny's to anybody looking for a good breakfast or lunch joint.

Friendly diner in Newton Center with a large menu. This place is very family friendly. Lots of good sandwiches and breakfast served all day. The walls are lined with old class pictures. You can walk here easily from the green D line, and there is parking around the square and a large pay lot in the center.

Great food, great people. Been here many times at different hours of the day. The owner is a lovely lady adored by her staff. Whether she is there or not, the place runs smoothly.

Fell in love with Johnny's when we lived in Newton Center in the 90's. We live a couple of hours away now, but it's still the best and we go out of our way to eat there whenever we go to, or anywhere near, Boston. New owners have done a great job of adding new menu items. We do miss the lady hanging from the ceiling and the turkey dinner. I'm sure the lady is gone for good, but maybe the turkey dinner could return?

Had a smoked salmon bagel on a busy Saturday morning. Bagel was a bit burnt and the smoked salmon wasn't great either. The waitress kinda forgot about us and just tossed us the check without even asking. If it'd be cheap I would expect this kind of service, but it wasn't particularly cheap. Go to one of those large breakfast chains instead. Prices are similar, but food quality is more consistent.

Old time diner feel. Memorable place and fun for the family. Food isn't 5 star but 4 will do.

Fantastic service! Finally a breakfast menu without sticking to only the same old dishes! Awesome choices including healthier ones. Johnnys gets it right!

Breakfast here was fantastic! The Blueberry muffin was toasted (top and bottom separately) and was a fantastic meal. The service was great and I would highly recommend this Diner to anyone looking for a quality breakfast.

Classic diner food at reasonable prices. Love the atmosphere here, too as it's casual and comfortable. All day brunch and breakfast items and an inexpensive kids menu, too. Not too many healthy/light options but the salads are nice.

Feel like eating at a diner? Johnny's is a great place for a family brunch. Service has always been attentive. Portions are generous. The food won't set any records, but it tastes exactly how I expect diner food to taste. Down sides: there's usually a wait on weekend mornings. The lanes between booths make the dining area feel claustrophobic. It can get pretty loud.

It was ok. Mac & Chesse was 3 stars and the burger was also. Burger was frozen. Now the pastrami scramble was good and would get again.

Everything you would expect from a local dinner. Good food. Wait staff from the local high school. There are even a few fun things to try on the menu.

Best diner coffee around! I have been to a lot of diners and this one keeps me coming back. It is a nice neighborhood spot with familiar faces and consistently good service. The food is great and they have a number of menu items to choose from. The best deal is the breakfast sandwich that I could eat every day! Hands down though, the coffee is what keeps me coming back!

After passing by this restaurant weekly, we decided to finally give it a try. If you're looking for diner and deli food, this is your place! We had a combination of matzo ball soup, veggie chili and a hamburger. The quality and portion was great. I only wish I had room in my stomach to order the M & M pancakes. They looked absolutely delicious! I guess we'll have to go back soon! Our waiter.unfortunately, I can't remember his name, looked liked a high school student. He was excellent and had a great attitude.
