Great place to bring visitors and family!! Historical influence to the area. Nice restaurants for all forms of diets. Many local shops with treasures to take home. Come visit dolphins on a boat tour or see the aquarium with alligators. Pay for parking. Out door restrooms are available but long waits at peak times.
Even as a local, this is one of my favorite places to go every weekend. Great spot to visit the beach or go fishing. The boardwalk has our favorite pub. Our son loves visiting the arcade and alligator attraction. Our daughter prefers the clothing stores and soap shop. Great place to get taffy and fudge and just enjoy the day. My husband and I visit frequently for date night at Mad Beach. Just so many things to see and do. It's hard to take it all in in just one visit.
I'm a local and I don't get down here very often given it's obvious tourist attraction but I recently went with a friend.
There are spots that locals can enjoy and it's a great place to spend the day with visitors to Florida. It is HOT in the summer months, so dress accordingly but most of the restaurants have fans and misters to keep you cool. It's metered parking and might be a challenge in the peak hours but not as bad as parking on clearwater beach.
It's a good stop after the beach if you're looking to grab some food or ice cream and stroll the shops.
Old boardwalk 'village'. Great place to idle away an afternoon. Lots of shops, bars and restaurants. Built overlooking the bay with beautiful views. Stay until early evening and you may see pods of dolphins playing. Stay later and eat seafood in one of the restaurant and don't forget to customer Mad Beach brewery.
If you like beach bar eateries, fishing, and souvenir shopping, this is the place to go. We stayed about two minutes away by car And went there 3/6 days to try the eateries. We enjoyed all of our meals, cocktails, and the scenery. The shops are varied and reasonably priced for families. We saw dolphins and a lot of different kinds of birds. The parking was easy in October, but I could see it being much worse at high season. You pay about a dollar an hour and the self- serve kiosks take credit cards. It can be very windy there, so think about your hair blowing around and a light sweater.
Great place for tourists. Lots of food and things to see. Great views of the bay. There's all kinds of activities. You can also come here to sign up for deep sea fishing.
Very upscale. Wish there had been moderate price stores too. All stores sold high end brands with prices too match. Stores used to be moderate priced gift and t shirt stores. They were fun to shop in and we used to always find some things. Not this time however.
Very cool area! I'm so glad we ventured here from St. Pete Beach to spend some time on our last evening. This is a totally different vibe from the other beaches. Lots to do including food, shops, treats, music, a great view of the water, and even some awesome Pokemon opportunities for the kids.
Loved loved loved this place. Almost like you're in another world. Beautiful views. Lots of stores with different prices from super high to decent. Very nice people. Parking is pricey though. But definitely enjoyed our time there.
Awesome place to visit while vacationing in FLORIDA, all kinds of shops, different food places, great wine tastings, and beers. You are aloud to drink inside the location. Very good prices. John's pass village is just that has old town feeling great for couples or families. You DO have to pay to park but you can choose how long you want to pay for different length of times. We loved it, I got great items to take back home for memories to look back on forever.
This is a crowded touristy shop area if you're into that sort of thing. We ate at The Friendly Fisherman it has beautiful views and great food. You can walk around the area and stop at other little bars and restaurants. Parking's a little hectic but we always found a spot with no trouble. It has meter parking or a parking garage
Nice place for travelers. Majority 9f stores are touristy shirt places but boardwalk is cool, have boat trips for the family as well as food and beer! Can walk under bridge to Beach area as well and some pretty good fishing off the shore.
Fun place to take people visiting the area and get your tourist on. Lots of shops and restaurants. The Mad Pub is the place to go for mass consumption of delicious cold beer while the others shop. Tons of beers on tap. Great time and you can smoke.
Fun beach kitch shopping and dining and wonderfully family oriented. This area of Maderia Beach is my go-to fun spot. A short walk under the fun-to-watch lift bridge and you're on the clean sand by the channel. Rent or bring chairs and umbrella to protect from that intense Florida sun. A great place to soak in the rays, swim, fish or watch the boats coming and going. Check out the Mad Beach Brewery for great local brews, and tasty ,American with a twist, food. Games, videos and a hopping crowd in this respite from the sun and sand.
