I went in for an adjustment on June 26th 2015 because my lower back was hurting. Prior to my visit I was able to walk, drive and do my daily responsibilities even though I had just suffered a torn quad tendon and was wearing a leg brace. I asked him if I should have xrays or an mri and he said no. He visually inspected my back and said it was out of alignment. At this point he laid me on my side and forcefully physically manipulated my hip and lower back causing extreme pain. One week later I had to go to the emergency room because of all the leg pain, fatigue, sweating and physical sickness I was experiencing.

The MRI showed I had a herniated S5 and L1 disc. I have been in extreme pain and have had extreme difficulty walking or driving anywhere since this visit. I've been to three neurologist and an orthopedic surgeon. I've gone to physical therapy, had 2 epidural injections, had a lumbar nerve block, and several other procedures. For the past 5 months my life has been ruined because of the herniations that occurred most likely from the physical manipulation that he did without knowing any prior history before doing those manipulations.

Personally I think a responsible chiropractor would have xrays or MRI done prior to physically manipulating someone's back. I Expressed this to him and he didn't seem to agree for some reason. I would be very cautious in using this Dr if he suggest any physical manipulation of your back without prior knowledge of your medical history.

Edited to add: I wrote this review last year. Apparently there are two sets of reviews for Dr. Dorobish on Google reviews. So I wanted to repost this review so everyone knows my experience.

Also it's been more than a year and I wanted to add how my quality of life has been since my visit. I've seen 3 neurosurgeons, two othopedic surgeons, ER visits and a pain clinic. This has been a physical, psychological and financial burden to me. Activities like, grocery shopping, house maintenance, driving, swimming and walking have become significantly difficult, painful and sometimes impossible since my visit.

Please be VERY cautious about letting anyone physically manipulate your back.

I've seen John for over two years. I was honest about having broken vertebrae in the past and their location - and asked if he would prefer having the x-rays. As a result of having my medical history (from me) we took the initial adjustments slow, over the course of weeks, not in a single session. He is always professional, prompt and courteous - plus if I have concerns he shares information with my related specialists immediately.
