Pizza is sub par, but not terrible. Extremely overpriced. Oh and you're better off at Subway then the sandwiches here - skimp meat to the max.

I'm giving Joe's 4 stars not because it's the best pizza in Portsmouth, but because it's exactly what it claims to be--a straight forward, quick and filling pizza joint. Hungry at 2 am after a night out? Line up at Joe's for a slice with local restaurant servers getting off work, wedding after-parties looking to soak up some of the night's excess booze, and some kids coming back late from a movie. Dan (the manager) and Jack are two of the funniest, kindest people in all of Portsmouth, who work insane hours and have probably put up with drunk you countless times before with a smile on their faces. Only reason I reserve one star, is due to one particular employee (who might have since been fired) and his rude demeanor and antics. 99% of the time, you'll see an all-star staff cranking out large pizzas for just about everyone in downtown Portsmouth. #IKIL

No issues with customer service as others have stated. The store was nice, quiet and clean, but was completely disappointed in the pizza. I guess by the store name I was expecting NY style pizza. Not even remotely close to NY style pizza, maybe Joe just grew up there but his pizza sure isn't anything like it. In addition it was way too overcooked and the crust was entirely too thick. If you're looking for NY style pizza, go elsewhere!! And yes I grew up in the NY/NJ area. Maybe I should 've ordered a calzone. In any case, I will not be going back.

No real issues with the employees or the food. However, they just raised prices to $5 a slice. So that's $5 a slice for reheated pizza. Sorry, that's unreasonable. I've been going there for lunch for years but I'll be going elsewhere now for pizza.

Pretty mediocre pizza bought 3 slices and somebody bumped into my outside the store dropped hthem and they couldn't even give me a refund or slices back and basically laughed in my face the second I brought up what happened. Overall disgusted with the customer service definitely will never come back here again. A tip of advice for your employees please learn to respect your customers.

No frills pizza by the slice place with a chill staff. Never had an unpleasant experience here. Great anytime of the day, even better at 1 am.

The pizza was excellent but the guy behind the counter was rude. When I went in I said, "I will have a plain slice to go" He threw the pizza on the counter on a paper plate. I said, "I wanted it to go" He then said, "I'm not a mind reader today" I asked him to repeat what he said but he wouldn't. I told him he was an unpleasant person and left. Maybe he was having a bad day but did he think I might have been having one also. If you don't like serving the public try another line of work. I won't be back!

Got a steak and cheese sub and the cheesy bacon fries! Steak and cheese was a great price for the size and the cheesy bacon fries came out on a 12' pizza tray! Absolutely amazing! I will be back!
