I love doing business at Jim's. Not only is Jim a really great guy but I love supporting local businesses. I've bought a bunch of bikes from Jim over the past 15 years and bring them back each year for their tune-ups. They do a good job, although they may forget to call you when your stuff is ready, so I just call every day after a few have passed. When the hurricanes come thru and rip up the bike trails at Quiet Waters park, it's Jim's crew that goes over and cleans it up. Thank you Jim and crew!

I tried to apply for a job at this location and the manager had no shirt on. I explained my situation about how I have been to the store many times over the years for Bike supplies and how I really liked the store. I worked as a bike messenger and have worked in bike shops as a mechanic previously in New York City.
I let him know I am very mechanically skilled and that I could learn any of requirements to work as a mechanic at this location and with a bit of learning I could further my skills in bike repair. He laughed at me saying that I had no time to teach someone how to bleed breaks even tho I was trying to let him know how much I wanted to learn this and I am capable of doing this work. I realized he did not want to hire me or that the store had no space to hire more people. Knowing it was going nowhere I asked if I could at least leave my resume incase anything came up, and he laughed at me again.
I have never had someone make me feel so little before while attempting to apply for a job before. If you are not hiring just say you are not hiring. I've purchased bicycles and supplies from this location over the years but I'll never go back to this place again.response / report this review -

A True " Local Bike Shop," With amazing customer service. I went in for a brake bleed, when I picked up my bike up an hour later the mechanic had also adjusted my rear derailleur and greased my axel. I left Jims bicycles happy, knowing I have finally found a honest bike shop.

Jim and all the other employees are great here. Very friendly and helpful. They are also right next door to quiet waters park which makes it nice to get parts or service if anything ever happens on the trail.

Told the owner my price range and what kind of bike I was looking for and 15 minutes later I had exactly what I wanted. Really helpful and knowledgeable staff from top to bottom that helped me find the perfect fit. If you're looking to get into biking or just want to update your collection, this is where you need to go!!
