  Called the owner up and asked a question he had what I wanted so I said I'd be right down,when I got there a sign on the door said closed appointment only. I looked in the door so he opened it and said it would be 1/2 an hour. I asked if I could look around until he was done with his other customer,he said there was nothing to look at. I said I am the one who just called. He was short rude and inconsiderate to say the least. Don't care if he was robbed twice like he stated, no way to be. Won't ever do business with him and I would tell anyone else to stay away also,the old jerk!

  Jim is a nice guy. People need to understand that places of business that deal with things of value may come off as stand-offish or rude. This is at any coin shop/jeweler. These shops are not meant for browsing. Nor are they meant for loitering. State your intentions when you walk in. They carry firearms; they are expecting the worse and are providing an old and overlooked service. They are always ready. This is my experience with Jim as well as other dealers. Jim has a great reputation around town with other dealers. Some dealers can come off as jerks, although Jim has not to me. He has always been patient and respectful to me.

  Jim is a gruff old man, but he has more knowledge about numismatics than any one else in the southwest. if you can get over his somewhat abrasive personality, you will get the most honest, fair deal in town. and think about the type of people hes been dealing with buying and selling coins and precious metals IN ALBUQUERQUE for 40+ years. id probably be a dick too.
