We go to Jean Kay's to buy the frozen mini veggie pasties. There are tables and they have other food like sandwiches, but they have the best pasties and we love to take some back home to savour until our next trip up north.

I used to live in Marquette and went to NMU. I loved going to Jeans and grabbing some pasty s. Great food and great people. The absolute best pasty in town.

Some locals told me this was the spot to have my first ever Pasty. They were not wrong. The food was only surpassed by the friendly service.

Their claim to fame are the delicious, authentic pasties. They also have sandwiches, a few sides, and lots of non-alcoholic beverages. The staff is super nice. There a only a few tables inside but a few more out on the deck. The decor is rather plain and old school but clean. There are only a handful of parking spots in the lot but more on the street and all are free. This shop is across the street from Northern Michigan University's Superior Dome. I took my family back on day two for another round of affordable pasties!

A few weeks ago, my wife and I were passing thru Marquette and decided to try Jean Kay’s. We were blown away. We had no idea that pasties could be this good. The crust was moist and flaky, and the beef and potatoes just about melted in my mouth. We can honestly say these were the best pasties we have ever tasted.

We had a wonderful chat with the owner. Looking forward to September when out-of-town shipping is available.

We stop every time we are in Marquette. Get the frozen day old pasties to fill the freezer until the next trip. Another must is the red potato salad.

I'm from the UK originally and was hesitant about trying an 'American version' of a British classic. I have to say Jean Kay's far exceeded my expectations - great quality ingredients and soft pastry, tasty gravy too. The owner is very welcoming and knowledgable- highly recommend this place!

I love the pasties, the atmosphere, and the people. It is small inside so make sure if you want to eat here to go when it's not busy, or take out is great too. The hot sauce is amazing!

I must say this is the best pasties by far. I have orders to fill when I go up to visit. I love taking home some for our freezer. Thank you for the great memories.
    Five stars

Although I've been to Marquette many times, this was my first visit to Jean Kay's. The local will tell you this is the place to go for pasties, and I was delighted. We were greeted promptly at the counter, and the selections were described in detail. I chose the traditional steak/rutabaga/potato pastie and a side of coleslaw. Our food was served immediately, piping hot & delicious. Want to spice it up? Try their Kickin' sauce!
