One of my recommended spots to friends visiting San Diego. Expansive menu of Mexican fare. Huge portions, especially the Surf and Turf (shrimp & carne asada) burrito. Plenty of seating, fresh salsa bar, unlimited drink station. Order at the counter and they bring it to your table. I'll be back soon
Excellent food. Casual family atmosphere. Huge portions - expect to take food home with you!
My only complaint is that they use too much styrofoam. Dinner creates a lot of trash.
Hey Jesus, great job, as usual. You been doing it right since day one, and hundreds of Roast Pork Burritos 😋 later, I can testify that the one I had last week tasted exactly as delicious (and huge) as my first. Never hungry or disappointed when leaving this great little Mom&Pop. Familia ! 10 🌟s!! C-ya soon !!
Good service, good deals on food. The burritos are generous and there is sooo much selection just ask if you have any special requests. We've been here several times and we've never had to wait to long to get served either.
Rock solid SD Mexican food. The portions are massive and the prices are reasonable. I got the Surf and Turf burrito which was good. I think it was a little short on the Surf (shrimp) and maybe some side sauces but the tortilla was spot on!
I just want to say that we came to eat here 5 years ago after a sea world trip. And we Loved Loved their food here we never stoped talking about the shrimp burrito we ate. And today after 5 years we are back and so happy we found you guys.
Not from California and was looking for a great California Burrito and saw this place on Google. It did not disappoint!!! Everything tasted great and was more than reasonably priced. (unlike anything else in California) Will be back for sure!! Fantastic food, service, and price. Highly recommend!!
I used to come here 15 years ago and the food was amazing back then. I'm here again tonight and I still recognize their faces. They always did make you feel right at home. I'm sure that they're here to stay! Five Stars in my book!
This has been our second year coming to San Diego. We remember coming to this restaurant but could not remember the location or name but we're able to find it through coordinates of a photo we took the previous year. The quality of food here is excellent, "yummy yummy in my tummy" as my daughter would say. The owners Leticia and her husband are very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place if are in the area. You will not be disappointed!!
Lopez Family
Great food. The monstrous surf and turf burrito is a must. Would be 5 stars if it was cleaner.
Good food, great customer service, won't charge you extra for your refill on your drink.
Not good! Food is bland and tasteless. They are simply cutting too many corners and it's really hurting their quality. On top of that they didn't even give me what I ordered. Half the ingredients were missing from the burrito I ordered. Definitely quantity over quality. This is one of the way too common bad taco shops you find all over Southern California. There are great ones, but not this is not one.
Good value for the money Mexican place. The large tacos are very generous. I normally order three most places but neither of us could finish our orders. Pretty quick service and very friendly.
YES. If you want to talk about the ideal late night munchies spot, then it is JV's Mexican Food. It was so nice to eat at a taco truck that hasn't lost authenticity. With so many trendy food trucks that pop up and over charge, it's refreshing to see a spot that doesn't. Quality and cost are just right.
I had the small JV's Mexican Food quesadilla. It came with two bite sized quesadillas, but it was just the right amount for someone who isn't craving much late night. Great food and service. Totally worth checking out.
