I've walked by here many times and finally decided to stop. The menu is typical breakfast/brunch, nothing extraordinary but very good. Additionally, they offer breakfast bowls for dogs; all breakfast foods that are safe for the canine guests served in a dog bowl. The only downside is, due to the proximity to the cathedral and St. Vincent's Academy, there are no alcoholic beverages. If you're looking for a Mimosa or Bloody Mary to enjoy with brunch, it won't be here 😕
The food was okay, I personally prefer more flavor. The location is great and looked nice. If you’re a tourist like I was I would say check out one of the many other wonderful restaurants Savannah has to offer.
Recently ate here Labor Day weekend. I love the inside the paintings are beautiful. Very colorful. The atmosphere is pretty chilled we went on a Sunday and it was mostly large groups to our group of 2. Menu has a pretty good variety it took me a while to decide I had the Alamo Omelette. I was hoping for it to be way more cheesier but it was still delicious. I recommend just paying extra to add grits they were so delicious and they gave u just the right amount of shredded cheese. Only issue I had was we came in and was told 15 min when we came back exactly at 15min the host looked as if we hadn't just came in even thou our name was written down then said well it's 4 people in front of you.. So why did you tell me 15min wait? Ended up just sitting at bar as that's first come first served
I have read a lot of reviews on this place and am puzzled as to why it's dubbed hipster as I saw no evidence of the usual hallmarks of a hipster establishment while I was there. There were fairy lights but I'm not sure that's the only criteria.
We arrived pretty early on a weekday morning and it was fairly busy with groups of college age people having breakfast. We were promptly seated and our orders taken right away. I can't fault the service at all, it was prompt, accurate and efficient which was great.
The specials looked really inventive and there's a wide variety of food on the menu but sadly we found the food to be pretty bland. I had the 'route 66' which was nice enough but more potato than anything else. My friend had the strawberry crepes and was not impressed at all. The coffee was also very bland.
I wouldn't recommend but it's not bad on the whole, just nothing to rave about.
Delicious!!!! Everyone absolutely loved what they ordered. I had a specials skillet. Can't remember the name but I had to have help to finish. Everything was great. The coffee was real and delicious. 3 of us in the group went through two pots. Definitely will be back!
Nothing special about the food. And the service was ok. Bad hygiene.
I had a good start even though it was packed I went alone so I sat at the counter right away. I ordered my meal and got it relatively quickly for how packed the place was.
I got some blueberry pancakes with granola and the basic egg, bacon and potato dish. The eggs tasted like plane old eggs with no other amazing flavor. The potatoes were also plane, like they just boiled them in water with nothing else to add flavor. The bacon was cooked good and tasted good, but that's because it's bacon. The pancakes were probability the saddest of all. I cut a piece off and stuck my fork into them. When I picked it up they split right in half. They were overcooked so the outside was very hard and the inside brittle and dry. And they were loaded with 3 giant spoonfuls of butter on top. I tried to load them with syrup to counter the dryness but that didn't help
At some point I went to the restroom and when I came back my drinks where gone. So I had to ask for them to get me new drinks.
Lastly, I liked that they are dog friendly and have dog food and a dog bowl for water. But I saw a waitress bring the bowl and fill it in the sink with water right in front of me instead of pouring some water from a pitcher. I say this because that's a place to wash your hands and be clean. Then she walked over to get ice which is nice but touched the ice scoop with her dirty hands and threw it back in there where they get ice for your drinks. I saw her take it outside and watched her to see if she would wash her hands and she didn't. She went straight to grabbing a cup for a customer to fill it with soda with her dirty hand. At that point I just left the place.
Excellent service with really good food. It's a little on the hipster side of things (what isn't these days?) for me but the excellent service (thanks Susan) more than made up for it.
It's an old service station (still has the garage door) decorated in cool art.
We were there for breakfast. All four of us had something different and it was all good. (I regretted not getting the blueberry pancakes with granola. They looked divine.)
Unpretentious and casual. Just plain good.
Went twice on our visit to Savannah. The first time was so good, we made it the last stop on our way back home. The grits were very flavorful. The skillets were full of flavor and freshness. The atmosphere was great and the staff was extremely friendly. Will find our way back on our next trip to Savannah.
This place is phenomenal. A favorite of mine. Their coffee is excellent and food is to die for. I recommend the Eggs Christopher. The wait staff even lent me change to pay for my parking meter while I ate the last time I forgot change. Great service and food.
Please ask for Arri she is such a wonder server! Recommendations and conversations were spot on! Service is something I value very highly and because of it we came back the last day of our visit! To make things better she remembered our 1st order!
The Hoopers - Spring 2017
If you visit this restaurant during brunch on the weekends prepare to wait. Depending on the length it just might be worth it. It's a nice restaurant serving up a variety of different meals. It has something for everyone and the price pretty good. The service was fast and friendly and the expierence overall was great.
Great breakfast spot. Nice decor inside and dog-friendly outside. I got the Eggs Christopher and it was excellent! The staff is quick and efficient even if the food isn't LOL (felt like we waited a long time for food to be ready). Grits were nothing special, plain grits, but works if that's what you like! I'd choose a different side if we went back again.
