Should have read the review before dining. This is for sure the worst restaurant you can find at the airport as the other reviews say. They have colorful logos and an interesting name though.
I’m from the Caribbean, so I said to myself let me get at least something that reminded me a little of home, and it’s an aiport so I didn’t expect the best tasting food, but I certainly did not expect something that tasted nothing like Cairbbean food. It’s like they didn’t even try, it’s a rip off!! DO NOT GO THERE!! The food is expensive! I don’t even know where to start with this review, first the rice was hard, and even then it had no flavour (I also tasted my husband’s rice) which was odd we both had rice how was mine hard and his wasn’t! For the starter I had jerk wings, these are litterly just fried wings with some raw seasoning on top!!! Seriously!?!? They need to do better or they need to close! It is disrespectful not only to call this Caribbean food but worse to even call it a restaurant!
I usually tell people my opinion and tell them still try it for yourself, but nooooo don’t go, don’t give them money to keep open! It I fraud if you ask me, not Jamaican or Caribbean food!
Amazing food
Not horrible, but not the best. Plantain was great; beans and rice well seasoned; jerk chicken was tasty but was a tad overcooked.
Service was quick and we received the check in a timely manner.
Don't waste your money, food is old, tste as though it was re-heated from
Night before. In addition chicken is rotten. I order the Caribbean grilled chicken breast meal with white rice, back beans and sweet plantains. Once I told waitress who was very nice, and attentive; she told manager and I had to pay $34. For a meal I did not eat.
The worst place to eat at the entire airport, portions are hyper expensive comparing to the price. The best i could get it was the Coca-Cola
Food was aggressively bland. I don't expect much from a chicken wrap, but it still managed to disappoint. You can get better food from a better than average gas station.
Service was very busy. not with any customers at all, but talking over each other, hanging, and avoiding customers in the back. Wow. This place is impressively bad.
The Caribbean chicken platter and basil soup are far from good. I don't recommend this place
Review is for breakfast, not sure about the rest of the menu or experience later in the day. Admittedly I wasn't in the best mood, which explains why I bothered with trying to get a partial refund on an additional charge I never requested.
I asked what came on the "American breakfast" since the menu had no descriptions. I was told it was eggs, meat, and bread. We also asked what came on the croissant and were given a description of meat, cheese, and eggs.
When I ordered the American breakfast, I was asked if I wanted cheese with it. I wasn't sure where the cheese would go, so I asked. After a thirty second discussion where the lady ringing us up responded with words like "yellow" and "American" I realized I was getting nowhere and said no cheese. Then I saw her press a button and the screen showed "cheese: $1.49" although she insisted she did not press the cheese button. My friend then ordered the croissant.
When the food came out, there was cheese on the eggs. I was relieved since now I finally knew where the cheese was going! However, I didn't want cheese on my eggs, so I returned the cheese in a napkin and asked if there was a charge for the cheese that could be refunded. She said there was no charge and asked for the receipt.
I showed her the receipt, which did not include a charge for cheese and she said there was no charge, but doing a little basic math it's easy to tell that 6.99+5.99!=14.47. She said that it did and pulled out a calculator. After she realized it didn't add up, she tried to say that the tax was what caused the discrepancy, but $14.47 was the subtotal in the food section before tax is even introduced. Then, when she added $1.49 to the food items ordered, she realized the math added up and she went to get her manager.
Her manager spoke English well, so the conversation with him was much smoother. He asked if she pressed the cheese button and she continued to say no, but he realized that we were charged for cheese. Finding a way out of the situation, he asked if the croissant had cheese on it. Yes, it did. It was a meat, egg, and cheese croissant. He said that that was the cheese charge despite it being part of the item description (again, orally only since there was no description on the board).
At this point in time I gave up and returned to my friend. She had taken a bite of the croissant and had no intention of finishing it. When I tried the bacon I had ordered I understood her stance. However, the eggs were not bad, especially since it was easy to remove the cheese that had molested it.
2/5 would not recommend (only got a 2 because the eggs weren't that bad)
Time of service was 7:21AM Nov 9th
The most disgusting "jerk chicken" I have ever had. "Fresh bread on the side" is a slice of stale bread. The chicken was dry and the jerk rub was super sweet! Disgusting!! The server was rude and grumpy, and just stood there yawning!
