I showed up on the worst possible day at the worst possible time: lunch hour on the last day of the month, same as every other procrastinator in my area!! The place was jam-packed, but I had no choice. It was the last day for my air quality test and my last day before my tags expired. Ugh!! But, much to my surprise, the line of cars moved quickly, and I was done with the test in about 15 minutes! The tech was very friendly, courteous and professional. He handed me a flyer stating that this location also processed registration renewals, so I went around back to the office. Same experience as the test the office was packed, the line was out the door. But also as with the test, the office line moved quickly. There were only two people working the desk, but they were flying!! And I couldn't believe how friendly and they were! They were smiling and joking with people, all while being extremely fast and efficient. I was back to work within an hour with a few minutes to spare!! I was so impressed with the people at this facility!
Went there at the end the month but in the middle of the week and waited about 9 minutes to get my test done. I was pleasantly surprised at how little time it took. The gentleman doing the inspection was incredibly nice, kind and polite and that's why he deserves all 5 of those stars!
I decided to get my sticker there too, out of convenience. The gentleman inside was not as pleasant. He wasn't rude, he wasn't mean. Just a 'straight to the point' kind of guy. If you have absolutely no questions, don't care about little things like "Hi, how are you?" or "Is there anything else I can help you with?" and just want to get in and out, you should go there. Otherwise I'd recommend going somewhere else, like the 'DMV' place in Wheaton.
2017-11 update:
I visited midweek early afternoon and had virtually no line for the emission test. It was fast and courteous.
I renewed my plates and it went fast and courteously as well. Apparently they upgraded their credit card processing software and delays are fixed.

Great service, fast and pleasant, but you will see lines around lunch time and at the end of the month. Try to avoid non-peak hours. A license plate renewal service is provided and the fees are fairly modest. License plate renewal takes only a few minutes. The manager typically opens a few minutes early, so early birds really benefit.
Line moves fast and efficient on the emission section. On the registration renewal is a bit different. I can see why they have not won any award for customer satisfaction in nearly ten years. It’s not like you have a lot of competition for the award. I’d be ashamed to have such old plaques letting customers know that you have not been at upper levels for nearly 10 years.
Vicky who seems to be the boss there should be careful not to have arguments with her own staff in front of customers. It makes everyone uneasy. It also sets a really bad work culture. I can see why the rest of the team is so rude. This type of behavior is set from the top.
Todd. You are there to serve the customer. Listen to what and how you actually talk to customers. It’s no way that you would ever want to be talked to. You seem to have a script down which is great, but we (couple of other customers) thought you were a machine (not in a good way at all) and you had zero interest in being there. Don’t ask the same question 3 times because it’s in your script. I told you exactly why I was there and you told me what I told you 10 minutes later. Tells me that you weren’t listening to me. Could be because you were fighting with Vicky and you were busy blaming the computer and decided that you were going to take care of something else (without telling me) while you were in the middle of processing my paperwork.
To everyone at the Illinois Air Team. We don’t want to spend our Saturday morning at your facility, but you guys chose for it to be your job/profession. That role comes with obligation to serve your customers. I hope this message resonates with you guys.
More so then vehicle emission polluting the environment, the staff's attitude is more polluting to the hearts of people that they are serving. The polluting effects of vehicle's emission is not more harmful as compared to the effects of the ill-treatment that the staff is diffusing upon their clients. The staff here should learn how to serve people respectfully.
I would rather drive far but at no cost I would come here. The staff is very rude. Of all the experiences that I have had at this place, I have noticed consistently that the staff is very rude. They do not explain anything, and if you politely ask to explain what they said, they get angry and shout at you.
I didn't even have to waitput into the facility and directly into a test lane. I was finished in minutes and then I went into their office and could purchase my new license plate sticker too. Employees were very courteous and helpful.
Quick service and the staff was polite. I also really like that you can purchase your vehicle sticker there as well.
The line goes faster than you would imagine. Try to go there before the end of the month, otherwise you'll wait in line that stretches down the road. The attendants are friendly and fast.
Mixed review on this. The testing is fast and friendly but they strongly advertise plate renewals with pamphlets and signs. It appears this a DMV service but it is a 3rd party and they charge $7.50 to get sticker. This is not clear and more of a scam. They advertise checks are accepted but are not. The guys even wear Air Team badges even though they are not Air Team employees.
There was a wait, of course, but that's not the operation's fault. Once I got my car up to the garage, they ran the diagnostics test in about a minute, total. Can't really complain.
Super friendly and helpful staff (inside and out). I also renewed my tags while I was there. Great idea, it was well worth the nominal fee. And with the new test, wait time has been greatly reduced.
First of all, I definitely DO NOT recommend waiting like I did, until the end of the month to get your emissions test done! The line is SO incredibly long and spills out on to the street at least a good quarter mile, meaning you'll be waiting at least an hour just to complete a 3-5 minute test. However, the line did move relatively fast and all testing lanes were open. The guy doing my testing was very friendly, knowledgeable and fast. He answered any questions I had about the testing and even made sure to tell me that they're now renewing license plate stickers at their location. Besides the fact that this station is super close to my house, I'll keep coming back cuz I know I'll be well taken care of every time!

Fast, about A 5 minute wait. Best part I was able to go right around to the office and get my vehicle sticker there. They have an $8 fee, and they only accept credit and debit cards no checks. But it was well worth it I highly recommend it !
