Dropped off large donation. Sad to see practically every dog was pitbull or pitbull mix.
I go there at least once a week or bi-weekly to volunteer. The people there are very welcoming and informal. They are able to answer every question you may have and the best part about this shelter is that it's a no kill unless the animals there are severely sick and can't continue on. The place is very tidy and clean. But the parking lot is small so be ready to have to park by the road outside the gate. They close on Wednesday and Sunday.
I have experience with many shelters and rescues, and HSCC is top-notch. It's a private-public partnership that is diligent about trying to find a great home for every animal. They take in and treat the hardest of hard-luck cases. The staff works hard and loves animals.
Amazing staff I've addoped two from here :)
I have one word for this shelter and it's AMAZING
Community doing good for animals needing homes.
Great selection of animals and friendly, helpful staff.
Very helpful with selecting a pet and offer free starting supplies such as food and litter boxes.
Great employees, and volunteers. Kept clean.
The shelter is great. The staff works hard and really loves the animals. They take good care of them, treat their sicknesses, give them meds, and even get them surgery if needed. They dont euthenize on time basis. Only if they are fatally sick, too aggressive to handle, or come down with kennel restlessness. Many animals are adopted but unfortunately many are surrendered to them every day. They do a great job with what they have. Please donate and volunteer! The animals need volunteers to play with them!
