  I think the campground has great potential.some trailers need tlc others need a lot more.a better road and modern lighting

  Sometimes the first impression of the place can give a false introduction.
  All the people are very friendly.
  Great views, overlooking the beautiful waccamaw river. Ocean is 15 minutes away. At night u can hear it.
  U can usually hear people outside enjoying themselves. Always respectful and shut it down around 10/11.
  Also Calabash is right around the corner. And myrtle,beach is a few minutes away too.

  I was traveling late in the afternoon and needed a campground to park overnight and hopefully find a place nearby to do a little fishing before I set out to complete my trip home. It was about 8:00 PM when I called and spoke with Brenda at Hughes Family Campground. I was surprised that someone picked up that late. Brenda was very pleasant and spent about 15 minutes talking to me about the campground, explaining how to get there as well as a suggesting a good place to get breakfast and some ideas for fishing the next day. I was able to get a good shower in a heated bathroom that was very well maintained. I would certainly recommend this campground.
