Cute, modest cafe . . also sells wine by the bottle which is convenient except for the fact they are only open till about 1 pm. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Nice atmosphere. Very pricey. Toast was cold, very little cheese in my omelot and my husband's eggs had running whites.

Excellent cute small place for breakfast. Fresh baked goods were delicious, excellent coffee and coffee type drinks. I had an omelet, with blueberry muffin - so good! My latte was fantastic. First time here will definitely come back

An excellent breakfast and good coffee. The negative reviews were all from a couple years ago, they have their s*** together at this point. A good experience in general.

A top-notch coffee shop, in my opinion.
After a series of random events, I found myself washed up at Sunset Beach, NC; and, in search of some good coffee and a place to eat my lunch, I spied Maverick's Java on its pleasant roadside lot. To my surprise, the shop turned out to be everything I wanted: good espresso at a good price in a good location -- and organic coffee to boot! The barista who waited on me was friendly and attentive (and obliged my order for a weird, single-shot Americano); also, the bathroom was clean and well-maintained. In the end, I sat out front under an umbrella, eating good food and drinking good coffee and reading a good book -- excellent! In my lunch hour spent at Maverick's, all was right in the world, and I left with a special satisfaction.

Best coffee shop! Great coffee drinks and cafe food. Vicky the owner of Maverick's Java is the most friendliest person you will EVER meet and makes you feel welcomed. As well as the staff. Just a wonderful relaxing place to have a cup of coffee or a bite to eat.

Pleasant staff and the shop is clean. However, I found it surprising that they provided only powdered cream for the coffee. If you just want a regular cup of coffee, you are better off going to one of the chain stores.
