Outstanding food! Jazzy wings are excellent. Scallops over the gritsphenomenal. spinach and artichoke dip was unbelievable. The gumbo was top notch. So to say the least, we loved it!
Excellent brunch at Huey’s this morning! We arrived a little before 10 and were immediately sat at a 2 top table by the window with a view of the river. Our server Mary Beth was so kind and attentive and made the best recommendations. We ordered the beignets with the praline sauce (a must), the fried chicken Benedict, the Parmesan garlic grits, and the breakfast potatoes. All amazing! Would definitely recommend!!!
Here at Huey’s and we’ve just been seated by a rude hostess who didn’t say a word to us or the couple who were just seated. Server was excellent and food was priced right for the quality. Chicken fingers were especially good with a southern crispy outside and moist inside.
Left before served.
On arrival the hostess, who was preoccupied listening to music with her earphones in, was too busy cleaning to take us to a table. When we asked for a table for two, she put her earphones back in and very rudely (including an eye roll) sat us without a word. We waited and watched multiple staff members cleaning around us with earphones in. There were five other tables already served and no one seemed interested in serving us. This included two waiters who walked right by us. Not wanting to take a chance with the food, my friend and I left with no farewells or questions asked. Very disappointing as it was 8pm and were quite hungry. However, we are now sitting in an amazing place just along the river called Rocks. Amazing friendly service, and reasonably priced fantastic food!
The shrimp and grits were very good. My husband had the seafood omelet and he didn't say it was bad, so that means it was good! 😉 The Beignets were DELICIOUS! Peach Bellini was great alongside this meal. So many more things on the menu I want to try. Will definitely be returning on a future visit. Only negative, was that our server who was super sweet was wearing dirty shorts and a shirt that was clearly worn previously without being washed. Great service and smile, she just needs to come in fresh clothes everyday. Should be required!
We love Huey's and never miss eating here when we are visiting Savannah. Saves us a trip to New Orleans. The oysters were really delicious. Red beans and rice, great. Not too spicy. They don't do their cornbread anymore but rolls served were very good. Of course you have to have the beignets and they gave us syrup /w pecans to dip them in so wow, really good. Our waiter was a little slow so the meal took a while. Noise level was too much too so we will pick a different time of day, maybe late afternoon.
Went for brunch and the food was great and service excellent. Location is nice with a great view of the waterfront from most tables. Portions were a bit small for the price paid, but overall very good.
Prices were reasonable. Service was alright/fair 😕Food took a while to get to the table but was well worth it for the taste & quality!! Ordered gumbo & a Cajun creole chicken sandwich. Kids menu is the usual.. chicken fingers, burger, or shrimp & well priced.
Went here while on vacation, it was recommended from a local we meet walking the riverside. It was medium to high priced but the portions were large. I ordered a fish sandwich and my wife ordered a low country boil dinner. They had a kids menu. Were sat outside overlooking the river. Whenever a tugboat drives past they do $1 shots. Outside was nice except the local birds would fly close, all part of site seeing.
Portions were good and food was amazing! We had a very friendly server named Wayne. My family ordered three dishes to split among the four of us, and our waiter even split the dishes for us and brought extra plates. The crab cake sandwich took a while, but the rest of the food was timely and delicious. Good variety and good prices. The place was well-kept and nicely decorated. Highly recommend it!
Food was tasty, but nothing we had was a standout. Service was so so at a slow time. Roast beef poboy had good beef. The shrimp poboy had lots of shrimp but not much else. Red beans seemed a little bland compared to what I've had elsewhere.
Overall, good prices for what you get, and not a bad place to grab a quick bite with a family.
“Great Nawlins food and good service.”
Plan to end with beignets. They alone are worth the trip. Good food. Nice atmosphere. We ate there twice while we were in town.
We went for brunch on Sunday(served till 3) they ended up running out of French toast so we weren't able to order what we wanted. My wife ended up getting their fried chicken tenders which she loved. I ordered the fried green tomatoes which were perfection on a plate and the roast beef po-boy. The atmosphere is nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the food. I recommend the fried green tomatoes the best I have had.
Shrimp & Grits are outstanding! My wife & I loved this place. The bar offers open seating on a "grab it" basis. So, if there are just two of you and you want to avoid an hour long wait (there was a marathon that weekend) grab a seat at the bar. (not to be confused with the tables in the bar area - which are on a wait list)
I read the reviews before eating at this restaurant. My parents and I waited for about 20 minutes before we were seated on fathers day. The wait staff is awful and unprofessionally and not to mention the host terrible. As for the food it was great, I ate a cup of gumbo it was awesome and spicy. My parents had pasta jumbalaya and they were very pleased with it, I must say it appeared to be appealing. We ended the meal with beignets. I would like to try them for breakfast I hear it's great.
