About two months ago, we went to Howard bentley to look at a Acadia. We were wanting to trade our Altima in for a bigger size SUV so we could have more room for our growing family. The Acadia was going to be too much of a monthly payment so we decided against that. Our sales lady then brought up to us that they were having good rebates on their new Buick Encores and that it would eat up all of our negative equity we had on our car. That sounded like a good idea but the size of the car was way too small and we told her that. She kept pushing and pushing and was using the line, "it has apple car play" as her sales pitch. We let her talk us into it, which we had a bad feeling the whole time but we kept thinking about the negative equity and she promised us that she would call us when they got their new rebate list in each month and once we paid on this encore for a few months we could trade it in for a bigger vehicle. We left with that sick feeling still and realized just how tiny that car was. Our child's stroller wouldn't even fit in the back hatch. We called our sales lady that night and asked if we could come back in the next day and get our Altima back and she said she would ask her manager when she got to work and let us know. That next morning we decided we would just go on and be up there when they opened and ask ourselves. We met with the manager and explained our dilemma to him, he looked straight in our face and said "Could I be a nice guy and let you have your car back and do the right thing? Yeah, I could but I'm not going too." I said most lots will give you a certain amount of time for you to decide if your happy or not and let you bring the car back and that's just good customer service. He said, "I completely disagree and there is nothing you can say or do to make me do it". We talked and argued a little longer and he promised the same thing our sales lady did, that he would make it right and he would call the first of every month with the new rebates and get us out of the car. We have yet to receive that call. We found out from a friend that it is by law to give a certain amount of time to someone purchasing a car to bring it back. Howard bentley covers themselves with this law by the paper we signed saying that we can not sue them and they can not sue us. We have never had to sign a paper like that before and that alone is a sign of what kind of dealership they are. This is the reason that nobody in Fayetteville will really deal with Howard Bentley. Most of their deals come from out of town. We will never do business or recommend anybody do business with them. On the plus side, if you're thinking about a buying a new vehicle then go to Landers McLarty Toyota in Fayetteville. They are extremely nice and treat every customer professionally and will always do the right thing for you!
We recently purchased a vehicle from Howard Bentley. While test driving the SUV the tire light came on, they told us they would check it out as soon as we got back. The gentleman from service came back in and told us he added air to the tire and reset the sensors. We decided that night to go home and think about it because they were not willing to come off of their price much at all. The next day we decided to go purchase the vehicle. We noticed they did NOT change our paperwork saying they would come off of their price 150.00 (big deal, right). We didnt say anything, just signed the papers because we were over dealing with them. Got in the car to leave and noticed that they did not fill it up with gas like Todd said they would, again, we just left..over dealing with them. We did not even make it half way home until that cute little tire light came back on. We called and they told us "I'm sorry, but you signed a paper stating you purchased the vehicle "as is" " Needless to say after some not very nice phone calls and telling them I would just come back and get my old car they decided they would fix it. The story doesn't end here, though. That night I happened to be out at night only to find one of the headlights were out! I mean really?! Do these cars go though any type of inspection?? I assume they were tired of me calling so they agreed to fix the light while looking at the tire. I will not purchase another vehicle from this lot. On a positive note our sales lady was nice and stuck in the middle.
Very nice dealership. They sell clean used cars and of course new. Our salesperson was considerate and did not waste our time. We made a good deal and drove home a car.
So easy to deal with. Todd Hicks was great! We were in and out with doing our application online before we arrived and we had our car picked out before we got there as well. Would love to do business with them again.
The staff at Howard Bentley were all very friendly and helpful without being pushy. this was the fourth dealer I visited while shopping for a new car and ended up deciding on a Buick and Howard Bentley for that Buick because of the excellent price and the staff. I will definitely be back in the future.
Everyone was friendly and took care of all our needs. We were very pleased.
I couldn't have asked for a better experience with Anthony Honey. Howard Bentley has taken excellent care of me for the second time. I came back to them for a reason and they delivered an amazing car with the most accommodating buying experience. I will buy from them again in the future.
My experience at howard bentley was great Todd hicks was very nice and went way above and beyond what any other salesman has ever done to help make sure everything went smooth.when I'm ready to trade again it will be with howard bentley. And Todd hicks.
I will defiinitely recommend this dealership and salesman Steve Parks to anyone in the market for a new or used vehicle. These guys were worth the one hour trip I have to make because of their honesty and pleasant demeanor. I didn't know purchasing a vehicle could be so painless! Thanks for making that experience the pleasant one I've had over the last 30 years of purchasing vehicles for myself and my family.
Pat and I were very pleased with our experience at Howard Bentley. Todd our salesman was very personable and went out of his way to make sure that we were very comfortable. No high pressure sales. The entire staff was very friendly. I like my 2015 chevy 2500HD. I would certainly recommend Howard Bentley.
This is the second new vehicle and about the 5th that we have bought from Todd Hicks at Howard Bentley. Every experience is a great one. My wife is loving the new 2016 GMC Terrain. We will definitely do business there again.
Kristin is awesome. The only complaint I have is that there are significant scratches where it looked like a curb was hit . I didn't do the damage and overlooked it when I bought the car. That was my own fault. Just wish before buying that it would have been touched up. Other than that, I love the car and my buying experience was great. They make it easy!
