Dr. Goel is great. Office staff needs much improvement. I've mentioned this to Dr. Goel before because it can get out of hand at times. Recently, I've been trying to get ahold of Dr. Goel and the office staff says they can relay a message to her, but I never get a response. I called around the 16th of Aug to complain about severe neck pain and headaches as a result. So much so, I contemplated going to ER, but I wanted to confirm with Dr. Goel the best approach. Office staff said they would relay message, and I never heard from anyone. I called again the next day and asked about status of getting MRIs scheduled. Again they said they would relay message, but yet no response. Called again on 08/24 to follow up on status of getting MRIs scheduled and they said that I would have to wait till 09/07 to have the orders put in. This is inconsistent with conversations with Dr. Goel during our last visit, in which we discussed getting those orders in shortly after (3 to 7 days) having my interstem device removed, which was removed on 08/17. We are at the 7 day mark now and I'd like to get those MRIs done for my next visit with Dr. Goel on 09/07. Front office either puts me on hold for long periods of time, hangs up on me, or says they will call me back after speaking with Dr. Goel. I've yet to receive any call backs and would like to follow up with Dr. Goel on getting the MRIs scheduled as discussed in our last appointment.

We selected this location based on the reviews. Sadly, they were not accurate in our case. To make a long story short, this Office and Dr. were too busy to give the care and attention needed to a new patient. Phones just rang and rang, Dr. was never in the Office or always at another location and the apathy in the Office was shocking. We needed him to make a 5 minute phone call to our Insurance to approve a MRI he ordered and he simply could not find the time. The Dr. missed two phone appointments, that his Office scheduled, with the Insurance and we decided to go elsewhere. We had waited 2 weeks and already established care with this Dr. and started over seemed daunting. 1 hour after we terminated the care with this Dr. we had another Dr.'s appointment lined up for 4pm and by 5pm the new Dr. had the MRI approved. This is something that this Office could not get done in 2 weeks. My opinion is this Office is simply too busy and the Dr. is overwhelmed by his work load.

Update as of Feb 2020: The worst practice I've ever encountered. Dr. Goel is great but the staff is unprofessional and inexperienced. While trying to solve a claim problem, I was hung up on by Melissa and the office is refusing to cooperate with my insurance (and they are in-network). This office would rather keep sending me a $102.08 bill every couple of weeks that I'm not responsible for at all- it is an error on their part or the insurance or both. Instead of solving the situation like UnitedHealthcare recommends, they want to keep dragging on, sending ME the bill that I'm not going to pay. I have reported them to the Texas Medical Board for failure to cooperate with an insurance provider.
This is a new location so the staff is working out some kinks but overall everything was great! I was able to get a same day appointment with Dr. Goel. She blew away my expectations of a pain management doctor. She offered me many treatment options for my pain- not just medications. She listened to me and was very caring. She spent her time with me to make sure I was getting the best treatment possible. I highly recommend Dr. Goel.response / report this review -

This is one of the most pleasant places we've been since my mom has been experiencing this horrible back pain. Dr. Goel is awesome! Her office staff and nurses are the best. They are very patient, cheerful and want to make sure you have the best experience possible. Shout out to Joselin for always taking care of us from day one!

I have been a patient of Dr. Tariq for over 3 years! He really is the Best pain management doctor in Houstonmaybe the US. He takes his time with each patient, never rushes you, listens to your concerns and discusses treatment options with you. He makes sure you understand and agree with his recommendations and if you're not comfortable he will present other options. I have always had a say in my treatment and that's not the "norm" with a lot of doctors. I trust Dr. Tariq completely and I know he has my best interest always. What impresses me is he stays up to date on the latest and greatest treatments and medicines and keeps his patients informed!
Short wait times, friendly and knowledgeable office staff. They go out of their way to help you with insurance issues/questions on pre-authorization, paperwork if requested, changing appt time or day. Big KUDOS to Sophie Morris!!! She is Amazing. Any concerns or help you may need is addressed immediately and resolved with keeping you updated.
Sophie and Dr. Tariq make every appt a great experience!! I'm definitely a happy patient who will not go to any other pain management doctor.response / report this review
