One of the better meals I have had in my life. Incredible flavors for every spice level you want. The service is excellent and they'll bring you your orders within minutes. This restaurant is a must try place, especially since it is so affordable for an all-you-can-eat meal.

Good selection of what you can put into your hot pot (protein, meat, veggies, starch). Family style is one big hotpot split down the middle or you can get your own individual hot pot. Six types of broth; I had the Tom Yum, very spicy but good.

The freedom of hot pot. Service is difficult. The restaurant is frequently out of ingredients, pointing to poor management. Wait times are long, partly due to unwise Groupon sales. But, I like it. Good food. Fun times. If you stop running out of menu items, you easily become 4.5 stars.

From outside, it looked plain and shabby, but decorated with a modern style inside. The food was good, and service was quick. Though the number of waiter to customer is such that nobody noticed my drink was almost empty. My friends ordered two servings of beef tongue and one serving of another beef item. The amount between them was barely noticeable. Sigh. The food is what kept my friends from coming back but definitely not the service. Dumpling is on the menu but not offered today. I guess if I am hungry, I would have given another star, but I like my hot pot for dinner and not lunch.

I gave this 4 instead of 5 because sometimes when I have been here the wait staff wasn't that great that being said the whole experience of the hot pot is so cool my daughter and I love to go here! It's all u can eat and I think reasonably priced. Love the sauce bar.

Hot Spot is one of my go to hotpot restaurant. It get's crowdy here most of the times. The value for your money is really worth it as the serving portions for the meat/seafood/vegetable is more than enough for one person.

The ambiance is kinda noisy maybe because most of the servers there are young but they are very attentive to your need and they make sure that everything on your side is good.

They have a good selection of sauce for what ever type or flavor you want as in literally you can mix and match.

Was here yesterday , rainy day, as expected very busy. This was my third time here, it is always busy. They were managing wait queue via some online app, which was a cool thing to do. It would send you text/ call when your table is ready. About food - i would say best hot pot in dmv area. Soup we ordered was awesome (tom yum). Service was good, i would have to say it was fast as per crowd size. Recommended to make advance reservations if you planning to visit with 5-8 friends and family

Used to come here somewhat frequently but now will have to stop going, unfortunately. The food is delicious and it's a cool place but last time, we paid via credit card. A few days later, my boyfriend noticed a large charge on his credit card statement and realized that the amount paid to Hot Spot was more than what we signed for at the store. We couldn't find the receipt anywhere so we called the store and it took a couple more days for the manager to finally get back to us after repeatedly calling. When we finally got him on the phone, he got rather defensive about it and sent us a picture of a receipt which had obviously been tampered with (wrong handwriting, indentations in paper showed the real amount we wrote in); server had given himself something like a 50% tip. Didn't feel like fighting because we didn't feel like the manager was in on it, so we called the credit card company and had them just reimburse us for fraud. We won't be going back out of principle but recommend that you pay in cash if you go and if you do pay with card, make sure to save your receipt and keep an eye on your statements.

This happened a couple of months ago and I think it's one particular employee doing it but I'm not sure who. Just be aware.

Never want to go there again. The waiters are not responsive and the food is not fresh. Every time after I ate it , I got a diarrhea. I ask for two plates of lamb and when they served it I only saw the fat. I would like to share the pics. The waiter almost never came to our table only when the time is up. Waiter came to give us the receipt and we kept eating then he came to tell us that you only have 7 mins left. We can only stay 2 hours for all you can eat. By the way, be careful about your receipt. The tips they calculated is after tax.

This is a popular and very busy hot pot restaurant. It is recommended to have a reservation so you don't have to wait for a table. They do have a small area for outdoor seating if you choose to do so.

You start off choosing individual or family style. The family style has the big split pot and individual is a small pot. You start by choosing the soup you want, and there are 6 different styles. 3 are spicy and 3 are not. You then choose what meat, seafood, vegetables, and rice or noodles you want to put in it. It does all come out raw. There is a number system indicating the amount you want. 3 being family amount, 2 a little smaller, and 1 is about an individual amount.

Everything was really tasty and filling. I would give it five stars but the day I went the AC wasn't working well and it felt I was in a sauna while eating hot soup. Can't wait to come back again and hope the AC is working.

Food was good and it's all you can eat. The staffs were nice. The only star taken out was because they kept bringing the wrong items or missing items that were marked on the paper menu. Hopefully, that wasn't on purpose. :P

For the location and amount of food it's worth the price. Downtown DC and any other similar type of Hot Pot stop or fondue will run you the same or more. The fact it's unlimited is a winner. What I did not enjoy: the staff who rushed out before 12am and we're not welcoming. I had no idea what this place was like or how things were run no one explained it to me. The manager and the employees seem to lounge around and not give a care. I was interested in them and asked questions of their food and processes but only one employee helped who was with his buddies. I Will not be returning here.

    1. Service - Quick, friendly, & attentive.
    2. Taste of food and quality of food - Great Chinese hot pot buffet in VA. A lot of variety to choose from.
    3. Ambiance/decor - Cozy with modern decor. Not too noisy when busy.
    4. Cleanliness - Looked & felt clean throughout.

Hot Spot combines great food with a fun experience. If you've never head hotpot before, I highly recommend. You pay a flat rate per individual and are then provided an endless supply of broth, proteins, veggies and more. If you're not familiar with the process, the kind staff will be happy to provide you a run down. Not sure what broth you'll like? You can ask for a sample of the broths prior to settling. Just be prepared to eat lots of food.
