My wife and I did the premier dinner cruise. The staff were wonderful. The meal was okay. The drinks were strong, but expensive. The views were beautiful.
The 2hr tour consists of the 1hr North harbor and 1hr South harbor tours - returning to the same dock in between. The tour was well managed and informative. Nobody checked tickets once you were on the boat so you could do the 2hr tour if you just stayed on from either of the 1hr tours.
It was a nice experience. We saw 30-40 dolphins 🐬 at once.
We saw a few sea lions 🦭
But just one whale. Apparently April/May are the best seasons to sea whales along the San Diego coast. We went in July.
Nice cruise, you see the whole port
Beautiful. A great way to spend an afternnon.
Hornblower Cruise was fun and exciting to be there. Captain talks on the speaker that as if he is the tour guide. Captain was fun to listen to. He is also funny, made a few jokes. I didn't like the bathroom. Mostly junk food. Wish had some other healthy food. Still have really services.
I had trouble booking my cruise online. The website kept giving me a weird screen. So I called customer service to see if my reservation had gone through. They said it had and sent me an email confirmation. I then get a voicemail saying that the sailing has been cancelled. I also get an email saying, "Get 15% off when you complete your order 15offnow" So I call the next day and say I would like to reschedule, can I use the coupon I was sent. After a menu that took a solid 5 minutes to navigate, I finally got a person who said no, we already received your payment. We can reschedule or give you a refund. I asked for a refund and she said ok. It will be on your card in 7-10 days. No sorry for your inconvenience, no Im sorry I couldn't be more helpful. That is poor customer service in my opinion.
Went on a 3-hour Dinner Cruise to celebrate a birthday. Our waitress was nice but could have been more attentive. After dinner they announced the names of guests celebrating special occasions, except they forgot us. Also the birthday dessert & candle was never brought to our table, it sat at the bar until I got up and asked why, our waitress said she wanted to bring it when all of us were at the table; all three of us spent plenty of time at our table.
The Food was good(salmon & roast). The view & boat ride were very enjoyable. But the overall experience fell short of expectations when paying $110 per person.
My wife and three kids really enjoyed the 2-hour bay cruise. We're able to see parts of the bay we've never explored. Had the good fortune of having a captain with extensive navel experience. He was able to explain much about the different ships that were in harbor and the naval base. The kids had a great time although be sure to bring a jacket, it gets chilly out there!
Went on a sips and sights cocktail cruise with my boyfriend. We were expecting a classy and romantic night out. That is not what we got. We got a super loud DJ that played nothing but Bruno Mars and Michael Jackson. No nice dancing, and very little conversation over the blaring music. I would say if you are in your early twenties and want to go party on a boat then this might be the cruise for you. Also if you have any dietary requirements (like gluten/dairy free) then you better eat beforehand since all of the food is breaded and fried or cheesy. That being said, the three stars is for the friendly staff and good drinks.
We took a two hour tour and had a blast. Id recommend the two hour because you get to see a lot of the San Diego Bay and Naval ships. If you burn, make sure you wear sunscreen.
We did use a Groupon so it was half the price which saved us a lot of money.
Went on two hour tour, on "Adventure". She was clean, staff friendly, and narration was informative. One hour tours only do half the bay. We had a very nice time!
A great boat tour of the San Diego bay! The tour guide was very informational and I thought the tour was the perfect length. I would suggest this tour as it is pretty cool to see things from the sea!
The ship was in good shape and clean. Crew members were courteous and helpful. Great one hour cruise around the San Diego/Coronado bay. Affordable pricing, however look for discounts prior to cruise.
The tour itself was very fun. First Officer Kyle and First Officer Randy were very nice and knowledgeable. The ship was clean and well cared for. The snack bar ran out of items before we even set off. The staff in the ticket booth was very rude.
I have lived here more then 20 years and it was my first time going on horn blower cruises it was wonderful
Omg! What a beautiful night and experience! We did the sights and sips cruise last night. So much fun! Breathtaking views. The food was good, nice variety. The only thing I was not impressed with was the jerk of a bartender at the bar dowstairs. He was rude, and acted as though he hated his job. I would highly recommend going on this cruise!
What an incredible experience. The food was fabulous. Staff was very friendly and excellent. The band was very talented. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening we will never forget.
It was really chilly and was real choppy that my baby brother almost fell over spent a long time to so we could see no whales and take dreminine because otherwise you should expect to get sick even if you don't get sea sick like I do I still had to chase my way to the restroom. But I think it mostly depended on the day but my mother did not like the expierence at all felt very sick and just wanted to get off but there's most likely a 50% chance you can see a whale.
Great experience doing the whale watch cruise. Found and followed a number of whales throughout the cruise. While the crew was very courteous and helpful, I want to give a special mention to Joshua at the ticket booth for being extra helpful and nice to us. Just an all around great experience for me and my family while in San Diego. I highly recommend this company. A tip for first time boaters; take some seasickness meds well before going out if you're at all inclined to get sick. The pacific this time of year has some pretty large swells that will have you chumming if you're not used to boating.
