The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, with some great recommendations for local dining. Unfortunately that was the highlight. The hotel itself is clean, but it's obvious that it's just a quickly constructed, cheap place. The walls were ridiculously thin. I could plainly hear the conversations from one of the adjoining rooms, and from the other the snoring of the occupant kept me awake well after midnight. Breakfast was the standard minimal Holiday Inn Express fare, and with a dozen guests eating breakfast they somehow managed to run out of coffee. Overall not an impressive experience. If I'm back in the area I'll be giving somewhere else a shot.

Very nice place with friendly staff. Has a restaurant on site, which was excellent. although it was very warm outside, you could feel the breeze off the ocean. It was a plus they have a marina on site that offers a store and many things to do.

Very relaxing ambience. Love the restaurant so close right on the property. The pool area was shaded when we went around evening time so that made it even more perfect. The pool was warm the food was great. We will definitely be visiting again the Tarpon Harbour. It was right off the highway behind the hotel but also right on the water. You couldn't hear any highway noise. Just the mingling crowd and the smell of the good food right next to the ocean.

Stayed the weekend here and had a blast. Its located next to Tarpon Creek Bar and Grill and Tarpon Creek Marina. Its very convenient if you want everything to do while in the Keys right next door. We went on a dive/snorkeling trip and took out some kayaks in the creek. Had so much fun

I visited the Holiday Inn as a part of a fishing trip. The location was perfect for the group. Across the street is Island Fish Co., a fantastic seafood restaurant. The hotel was clean and the staff was very accommodating. Nice people. If I'm down in Marathon again I know where I'll stay.

Great location, but loud! The floors and walls are very thin, we would hear kids running up and down the halls daily as well as the maintenance staff blowing leaves at 8am one morning. Tarpon Creek was fantastic, great food and enjoyed the live music and happy hour. Breakfast was a bit better than you'd expect. Biscuits and gravy one morning, eggs, bacon and sausage another, along with make-your-own pancakes and the usual bagels, toast, yogurt, fruit and cereal. We didn't go to the pool, you can't actually see it from the parking lot or anything and I kind of forgot it was there. Rooms were clean, no issues. No water views or anything. Only complaint was really the loudness. Earplugs will go a long way!

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Everything about it was right. The rooms were very nice and clean, nothing to complain about at all. Queen size beds even. All of the staff were friendly and helpful with all of our questions. The breakfast was nice as well. Pretty standard hotel breakfast but they had warm cinnamon rolls and a pancake making machine which was different. Can't comment about the pool or restraunt as I was not there long enough to check them out but I'm sure they would be just fine. Overall good stay!

We recently stayed 5 nights at the Holiday Inn Express in Marathon, FL. The hotel is lovely, the rooms very clean and well stocked. We enjoyed the pool and the restaurant next door and ate there several nights. The entire staff was wonderful but the hotel manager was fantastic. When we left Marathon, we headed to Tampa. When we got to the hotel in Tampa (also a Holiday Inn Express), I realized that one of my small bags was not in our car. When I called the hotel, I was advised that housekeeping had found the bag and the manager told me she could send it to our home address. The day after we arrived home to Illinois, my bag arrived. Thank you, thank you, to the manager and staff at the Holiday Inn Marathon!

Location is great--easy access to the Intercoastal/Hwy 1, and the canal is behind the hotel and restaurant (Tarpon Creek, which features live music most nights). Hotel and pool are clean and comfortable, and staff keeps breakfast options well stocked, even during the busiest times. Booking charters and other tourist opportunities is available from the lobby. Business Center is well maintained but not crowded. My one complaint is that our room faced the pool, and the curtains didn't block out enough of the bright lights.

We stayed here while on our anniversary trip and loved it. The beds were super comfortable and I slept really good. The person at the front desk was helpful and the scenery from our room was beautiful. I would definitely stay here again if I'm ever down that way. It's quite and romantic. Perfect for a getaway with your significant other
