Good wifi, comfy bed and full cable. Pretty nice place.
My husband and I have stayed ar this hotel many times and on our early stays I was so disappointed with the rooms but wirh limited accomodations in the area we kept going back. I am so glad we didn't give up as the hotel has been remodeled from the towels to the wallpaper-our last stay was for four nights and it was such a pleasure and the beds and bedding are so comfortable. The staff is very friendly and a pleasure to talk with. I look forward to our upcoming trip back to this diamond that I almost gave up on. Keep up the great work!
What a rip off. Used my cell to check rates online and it showed $95/night. It was midnight and we were too tired to drive further to Northern Virginia. The hotel clerk rung me up at $140/night for a single King so I asked for the cheapest room. She said a single Queen for $9 less. Really? SHAME ON YOU-- Holiday Inn Express for gouging. This will be the last time we stay at a Holiday Inn Express.
Room: decent condition; mini fridge; hair dryer; no safe; 36" TV; nice King size bed
Bathroom: missing one bath towel-- only 3 towels but normally 4; should have put a fresh roll of toilet paper in the loo since only about 1/4 inch of tissue was left on current roll
Parking: hitched trailers and long bed pick-up trucks might find the parking a bit tight and difficult to maneuver; not sure a bus could park in the lot
The hotel was nice enough, but the rooms weren't particularly clean, and my room had a strong mildew smell. It improved once I turned the air on, but never really went away. However, the breakfast was great!
Front desk personnel were quite pleasant but this property is in dire need of updates. The room fridge was so loud it needed unplugged. Unfortunately the room AC was almost as loud. Had to turn the temp way up to minimize how much it was on. The phone in room was an ancient cordless that was unplugged from power. I had to struggle to plug it back up and charge it so my wife could call. The smoke detector was so yellowed it looked 20 years old. I tried posting this on Holiday's Inn site but they didn't accept this review due to their acceptable use policy? I have had three separate bad experiences in a row at this chain and am done with them.
Stayed on first floor. Carpet was sticky, k-cup machine was dirty, low water pressure, and the drain in the tub could not keep up. Bed was good though. Easy check in/check out.
Solid lodging choice near shops, lakes, and area activities. We've stayed here for six years running for visits to my Father-in-law. Rooms are comfortable and always clean, breakfast (hot and cold offerings) is better than you'll find most places; especially the decadent cinnamon buns.
Really a great staff at the night desk!
I booked a room from that road and arrived 20 mins later
The two ladies at the desk were expecting me, and really a joy after a 10hr drive.
They made sure I was set for the night - gave me the "What's what" and even provided me with a few tips for some local info I needed.
My room was great - large, relatively quiet (silent by 11pm), and comfortable. Everything was well kept, and as I would have expected.
Breakfast was quick for me, but they had the much needed coffee nice and hot!
If stopping in the area, I would certainly use the location again
Great staff. Slightly musty room. Otherwise nice place.
Everything was awesome from the time we arrived and left. We were on our way to Pittsburgh from Minnesota and needed to stop driving! Rooms were clean service was friendly beds were comfortable
My company Husky Metal Roofs, an A+ Accredited BBB company, stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Fremont for two nights while working on a new construction project in Angola, Indiana. We reserved 6 rooms each night for 12 employees. Upon checking out, buried deep in the second page we noticed that there were two $250 dollar cleaning fees that we were never notified about while checking out. When we called they said the rooms were smoked in. Their reasoning behind this was that the room smelled like cigarettes and there were butts in the trash can. We do have some smokers on our work crew but they have never smoked in a hotel room (we do many overnights) and they also don’t throw their butts on the ground, they make sure to throw them in the trashcan. The room was not checked after we left, they smelt the smoke on their old clothes while they were changing linens during our stay and saw the butts in the trash and assumed the room was smoked in. Their were no ashes nor any other sign of smoking other than a lingering smell off of the butts and clothes that cleared up as soon as they left the room. Additionally by not telling us upon checking out, hoping that we wouldn’t notice or just pay it, they never gave us an opportunity to dispute the charge or go with them up to the room to see if it had really been smoked in. Upon returning to Michigan we spoke to a manager on the phone, she was extremely rude and unable to work with us to resolve this. Additionally when we mentioned we will be leaving a bad review she told us we were “sick”, “unprofessional”, and asked us “why we would do that?. I said that’s what the websites are for. She ended up hanging up on us and saying that there is nothing she could do since we disputed the charge with our bank. Overall we have had great stays at many Holiday Inns and never had any issues. The staff here is obviously poorly trained and lacks in customer service. They try to sneak charges into your bills and hope you never notice. They basically stole $500 dollars from us without ever notifying us. Our employees are respectful and would never smoke in a hotel room. Our reputation speaks to that.
I tried to post this same review on their official website and they sent me this in an email. Apparently having a complaint about being charged wrongly is irrelevant to your stay at their properties. Horrible Customer Service
I've stayed here several times and the good breakfast, clean rooms, and professional staff kept me coming back. My last two visits were not as pleasant. I was interrupted in my room after being granted an extra hour late check-out. The front desk person was loudly complaining about my still being there as i approached the counter. I told her i would leave immediately even though late check-out had been granted. She said my late check out was "in the computer but not on her sheet" and she goes by her sheet. She was mad. But why be mad at me? I don't control her "sheet." My room this trip was not as clean as past visits. There was broken glass on the carpet. The breakfast is also not as good. Missing staples like syrup, watery orange juice. This is not a bad hotel. It's just not nearly as nice as it once was. Next trip, I'll explore other options.
Access was a bit confusing coming off of I-80 onto I-69 after an 8 hour drive. Facilities were unexpectedly top notch! Room was clean but the bed! The mattresses were a good 3 feet off the ground - seriously! My wife, after the long drive, had issues just literally climbing into bed, and then to have her feet dangling off the ground a good foot caused these senior citizens to burst into a fit of the giggles (my wife is 5'7"). Would have no problem recommending this hotel with a warning that pole vault experience required. And the breakfast buffet? Wonderful selection!
