Such a/an Awesome, Amazing, Beautiful, Cool, Clean, Excellent, Fantastic, Gorgeous, Nice and Wonderful State Park. I love it. My friends and I thought it might be though to hike because it’s our first time hiking but it’s actually not that bad.. We started hiking from - The upper falls - Devil’s Bathtub - Old Man’s Cave - the lower falls - finished just like in order. And we went to Cedar Falls. The next day Ash Cave and Rock House. We had Lunch and Dinner(make a reservation a head of time) at Inn and Spa. We love the park, and enjoyed every second of our time being there, hiking there. Recommend to anyone who likes to hike and enjoy the nature.

I loved this hike. My group and I went down to Old Man's Cave in the park. It was a great, relatively easy, hike. Lots of flowing water—including some beautiful waterfalls—and very magnificent rock formations.
You are walking down the path, soon reaching the first of many waterfall's you'll see. It flows from under a bridge (one you walked on only moments ago) and where the water lands is a beautifully blue-green pond. As you continue to walk, you little waterfalls and occasionally larger ones. You see places where the water has eroded the rock and formed structures, places like "The Devil's Bathtub", a spot where a waterfall drops into a deep, round, smooth, rock bathtub. As you continue, you reach the cave.
Within the cave, which is still very much outdoors, you lose all sense of scale. As you look up you an overhang that is red from iron oxide and green from copper oxide, and when you look around you realize the people near you look tiny, and that's when you are finally able to take in the scale of the cliff you're standing under.
I would totally recommend this experience to anyone who gets the chance. I, for one, loved it.response / report this review -

Absolutely beautiful! We stayed in the getaway cabins. Paws #43 and has a great stay for my birthday. The property managers had a special note and bottle of wine for us to celebrate! All their main attractions are beautiful to explore but there are so many other areas off of the beaten path as well. Recommend exploring the nature preserve. You can explore inside the gorge which is so pretty it doesn't even seem real and then it is a must to conquer the enormous amount of stairs and hike the top of the gorge!

This is an amazing place to visit if you get the chance! We stayed for 3 days but would have loved more time to explore. Bring your serious walking shoes and be ready to walk and climb. We took our two children, ages 9 1/2 and 7, and they were able to fully participate and enjoy! The beauty is incredible. Don't forget the camera!!

Absolutely beautiful place! You have to see it with your own eyes. Hikes to some places were challenging but doable but will leave you sore if you aren't in shape like me. The family hike in campsite was also very nice. Most sites are secluded from the others so privacy was good. Overall this place should be on many bucket lists.

Very beautiful park. This park is within an hour and a half of Columbus and has beautiful trails. Great place to see caves and waterfalls. Definitely one of the nicest hiking areas in Ohio. The park also contains several miles of the buckeyes trail. Trails allow pets. Definitely a must visit for hiking in Ohio. There is limited cell service throughout the park.

My family had a blast visiting Old Man's Caves. My son called it our dangerous, fun adventure, as we followed a trail that took us up some Rocky steps and around Devil's Bath Tub. There was a waterfall, and they enjoyed going into some shallow cave entrances. A few spots were a bit slippery, so good shoes are a must. There's also no guard rails, so approach edges with caution. We plan on going back when we have more time to explore.

Great hike, great views. Lots of beautiful photo opportunities, as well as good educational information on the many signs along the way.
An easy hike too; not requiring much skill or expertise. Rangers are plentiful and helpful as well, even mid way through the hike, which is nice. (we were checked on with a friendly "everybody doing okay?")
With as much foot traffic as they get, a friend and I were quite surprised that they didn't have a cell phone tower for all the folks wandering the area. (service was VERY spotty, mostly just nonexistent)
There was only one spot that had multiple trees down, blocking the path, and when we asked about it when we finished they said they require two-person teams for any chainsaw-using tasks, and that by Thanksgiving weekend hours are so reduced that finding two-person teams is difficult to come by.response / report this review -

Very beautiful state park. The waterfalls and rock formations are very spectacular. It has many different trails for all kinds of skill levels. There are some longer hikes in fairly rugged trails and some trails that's are short and essentially paved. The trails are well marked and have signs with trail maps that makes navigating the hikes much easier.

Hocking Hills is a gorgeous destination for outdoors enthusiasts, and day hikers alike! The scenery and terrain is absolutely beautiful. We go to Hocking Hills every fall, for rock climbing and rappelling and enjoy every minute of it. There's lots to do around the park and state forest, as well. Camping in the park is affordable, and there are many private lodges and cabins in the area, too. Definitely make the Hocking Hills region a destination for your next vacation!

Great area for vacationing with family and friends. I've always felt spoiled by the Adirondacks in NY but Hocking Hills, Ohio is a real treasure. We've always visited in February with some close friends and have had a superb experience every time. There are plenty of vacation cabin rentals in the area, many with hot tubs. Short and long hikes beckon anyone who loves the outdoors.

It's a magical fairytale land of beauty. Visit during the week during the school year so it is less crowded because it can get quite busy. Make sure you hike to cedar falls it's a marvelous & interesting hike.

Beautiful park. The birds are everywhere and so gorgeous. No junior ranger or naturalist patch for the kids to earn, but they do have very fun activities each day. Some big winding turns coming in if you are in a heavy load RV (we are in a school bus and it was a little much for her). Offer electrical or full hookup sites. Pool on-site and hiking trails are VERY fun but be careful on them.

Its.a beautiful.place. It's very crowded, but if you try to get a site at the organized youth group site you can avoid the crowds and it's pretty quiet.
The showers and pool is nice, if you need that stuff when camping. It's good with small children. There's lots of good hiking with natural caves and waterfalls to explore. The staff at the check-in center are hit are miss. Some are very helpful, some are completely clueless. Their firewood is overpriced, and frequently wet, but there's good firewood down 664 in either direction.response / report this review -

It was a nice clean ordinary state park with easy trails. Was hoping the trails would be longer and a little more strenuous. Nothing really exciting. I suppose coming from CT where everything is rocky and full of cliffs this was nothing special. I wouldn't recommend if your looking for a challenge or spectacular views.

Really awesome cabins. They have modern appliances and a gas fireplace. Lots of hiking to do with some neat geographic features. I would definitely recommend checking out both Ash and Old Man's Cave. One thing you won't have here is cell reception or wifi so make sure to download offline Google Maps info for that area.

Great place to go hiking, I ended up meeting a couple new friends. Only went because it was something that me and my partner talked about doing but never did so I decided to treat myself well worth it. Would love to spend a weekend there and go zip lining.

Exceeded my expectations. This place has so many trails to hike and enjoy. Absolutely one of the best state parks I've been too. Can't wait to visit again with more time to spare. Loved everything about it.

Best state park that does not charge for entrance or parking fees. Camping sites are available - primitive walk-ins, water & electric and non electric options. They have showers at the main area in camping sites near the pool and vault toilets around the campground area. Hike to Old man's cave and cedar falls - nice scenery. The buckeye trail can be a little narrow at some areas but it's nice to walk along the gorge. Dog Friendly!!
