Nice place. Brunch was decent. Eggs in my omelet tasted old, and were definitely over cooked on the outside, slightly raw inside. Second attempt at the omelets. I still like going here, but might have to order something else next time. Fantastic rose gin drink.

Great food and service with a very comfortable atmosphere! Whenever I go there I feel like I'm one of the upper echulons.

Not impressed. A beautiful place that does not seem to want to cater to its off season guests. There were many rooms with down comforts. We got heavy quilts that fell off the beds all night. I tried to arrange having friends and family come out for a evening at the bar area. Got no response. Oh well. It is lovely but I am going ro recommend a lower in price more amenitys and has better bedding. I should have just stayed at the Hamptonpicked The General Lewis because it was downtown. Wish we would have gotten a haunted room to get a thrill out of the basic nothing we paid for. Sorry but that is our experience.

Stayed two nights for our annual shooting trip. The employees are incredibly friendly and helpful, every room is unique and a couple are haunted! The bartender is incredibly talented and is unfazed at even the oddest drink request. I would easily recommend the General Lewis to anyone staying in Lewisburg.

I recently brought my mother here for a brief stay. Our family has visited the inn for decades, either for dinner or to lodge. I like the changes the new owners have made. The grounds look much sharper, and the food quality has improved - ample variety and farm to table. Wonderful "tapas/appetizers" selection! The rooms are nice. I suggest one of the larger suites (which is what we stayed in). Staff is very friendly, especially the owner. I can tell she enjoys what she does and she makes everyone feel welcomed. I highly recommend a stay here.

Very unique, historic place to stay. Comfortable. All rooms are different. Has a restaurant, organic. Nice employees. Small bar with fireplace.

Beware! We stayed at the General Lewis Inn in 2016 & enjoyed our visit. We booked again this year & there was a mix-up with the date. We called to move the reservation to the correct date for the following week & they were unwilling to switch & retained the entire $420.
The website doesn't mention the policy but they said their policy was on confirm. When we were in Lewisburg we learned that they lost money on a big group reservation for Greenbrier Classic & have been treating customers badly since.

The General Lewis Inn is cozy, clean, and comfortable. The restaurant downstairs serves delicious food. The staff are courteous and friendly. I would definitely stay here again in the future. A very nice stay indeed.

A great brunch menu is offered at a very good price for the quality of food. Service could have been a little faster. But it was mothers day so I understand. Overall great place to nest and socialize.

My favorite place to stay in Lewisburg. Always stay there. Plus the bar is the best. Great place to relax and enjoy the town

I stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms and while i didn't find the room amazing for the price it worked fine for just me. Now I could see if I my significant other with me she would not have been alright with the bathroom. There was a small sink and a single glass shelf and that was all. I think there was plenty of clothes storage, a closet and dresser the dresser was kind of a pain to open but its an antique so its to be expected. I think if you go here with the right mind set you will have an enjoyable experience. The restaurant/bar is awesome!
Oh and no I didn't see any ghosts ;-) could hear everything that was going on in the adjacent rooms and hallway so I don't even know how you would know if you heard a ghost even if one was in the room with you.

Nice place to get away from the big city! Antique furniture in the rooms. Friendly staff and good food/service in the dining room. Food is mid to high priced but a decent value considering the quality. Very casual atmosphere, the room keys are on a board in the waiting area so don't expect to feel like your room is very secure when you are out. Given the surroundings it doesn't feel unsafe though!
