We enjoyed our stay at Motel 6 Lewisburg WV. We did experience a neighbor who noisily arrived in the room next to us and our dog did some barking. We reprimanded our dog and she stopped after several sets of barking. Neighbor called the office. The neighbors talked noisily into the night. We, however, did not call the office and complain. Many restaurants to choose from for dinner. Only negative was there was all kinds of garbage around the grounds when we went to walk our dog. We had not experienced this before at our previous Motel 6 stays.
The room was large. Easy parking. The air quality in the room was terrible. It was a non smoking room but must've been a smoking room in the recent past. There were tar stains on ceiling, the room was very musty/moldy smelling. My sons allergies started acting up in the room and we had to keep the door open. The bathroom was very dirty, especially the floor behind the door. There was hair from multiple people on the bathroom walls.
That's what M6 is all about, isn't it? As Tom Beaudette says, "Always a clean, comfortable room at the lowest price of any national chain." This particular property previously went by another name. It's convenient and fits the bill.
I was a bit disappointed in our stay at Motel 6 in Lewisburg, WV. The room was small and clean. We didn't find out til the second day that room service was not done unless requested. The front desk was not open til late morning, so we were unable to get a cup of coffee on most days of our stay. The one day that I was able to get coffee, the pot felt empty. The lady at the front desk said she usually only made one pot, but would make a second since they were busy that day. Thankfully there was some in the pot. The last night of our stay, the key card would not work and the office was closed around 9:15 pm. We rang the bell and waited. A teenager sitting close by told us we had to come to the window over by her. Nothing on the door sign let us know this was the proper procedure. Our card was fixed and we were able to get into the room. The room had been serviced as requested. We left at 9am the next morning and left the key card in the room per request because the office was closed again. We were also disappointed able the lack of carpet in the room.
I booked my room for a week. When I got there to check-in there was a note on the door saying call or push the door bell. I did both and had to wait almost 30 minutes for some one to answer and I called about 10 times. While I stayed there house keeping never came around and cleaned the room or did anything. I had to go down to the office and call a couple more time in order to get some clean towels and more toilet paper. The room was not clean when I got there either there was dirt everywhere and under the beds there was socks, clothes, beer cans. I was a little disappointed with it because I have stayed in other Motel 6's and have had a very enjoyable stay.
I booked off website with overall good ratings. I didn't like that it was 5 miles off the interstate. It was also hard to find. Upon arrival there were drug addicts in parking lot, and a note on motel door indicating to ring bell or call #, we rang bell and a woman came few minutes later to a side window that she cracked opened and checked us in. It was myself and two younger daughters. She pointed to our room and already cautious we went in. The room smelled and was dirty, bath tub was dirty and had hair inside the tub. The blanket was dirty and had stains all over. There was bugs and spiders in every corner. We felt unsafe and decided to leave. I went to talk to lady and rang bell with no answer, called number and got voicemail stating it was full. Still haven't been able to get in touch w them. I ended up driving straight through the night to our destination from all the stress and anxiety of situation. Would not recommend this motel to anyone and will not book through this site again. Worst experience ever.
Not at all what we expected of a Motel 6. First, we want to say the personnel were pleasant and helpful. And that is why you are getting a 1. Otherwise it would be a zero.
Our complaints:
-chipped furniture
-connection to wifi was terrible
-stained towels
-dresser draws had debris in them
-sink faucet was loose
-windows were not cleaned
-vending area cluttered and no lighting
-the room overall just felt dirty
-was charged a different rate than I booked over the phone
We originally were going to stay three nights but left after one.
Awful. The lady opened a window, for me to do my registration instead of letting me in the office. The room was filthy, there was trash and tons of dirt. Lights didn't work. The bedding was dirty and ragged. One comforter even had a big burn hole in it.
We left by 10 pm the same night. Non-smoking room was very smoky smelling, wifi code was not working, and the security lock on the door was broken. Coupled with the amount of coming and going and strange noises from the room next to us, we were just not comfortable. The office being locked by 6 pm and having to check in through a side window cracked open 4 inches should have been a clue. I have stayed in many lower priced motels across the country but never anything this sketchy.
This motel is not remodled yet. The operator is very sweet though. Needs work done on building big time. Very quite. Good location as well.
