Large selection of annuals (geraniums, zinnias, petunias, pansies, etc.), spring bulbs (tulips, daffodils, hyacinths), as well as indoor houseplants. If you're looking for landscaping shrubs or perennials, their selections are minimal. However, their plants are always high quality. They know how to grow and take care of them. Highly recommend buying direct from this grower!

I bought several ornamental grass plants there last year and was advised they would come back each year. I followed their instruction to cut them down to 3 inches at the end of the season. I did so, and the plants did not come back this year. I spoke to some a-hole and he basically said it wasn't his problem. Last time I do business there! I guess this is why big box stores are getting all the business. Customer satisfaction!

Several weeks ago I spent about one hundred dollars on plants and fertilizer. Turns out that I couldn't use two bags of the fertilizer, but had since thrown out my receipt. I brought them back and asked if could exchange them for plants. I realized that without a receipt I wouldn't be asking for my money back. A darker haired, middle aged man at the register said, "nope, can't do that without a receipt." I said that I didn't want my money back, only an exchange. "What don't you have a receipt, what have you done with it/" he demanded. I got the feeling that he thought that I was trying to pull something over on him which was very insulting. I am a long time faithful customer of Costco where returns are handled no questions asked. I have spent $15,000 a year there some years. I am a valued customer and they treat me that way. I have been buying flowers at Hionis for over twenty years before they were at this new location. It is actually quite a drive for me to come to Whithouse, but I have been faithful. I looked at the man and said, "Well, you've just lost a customer, because I'm not coming back." He isn't seem to be fazed. "What's one customer? Well, my daughter-in-law came to buy Mother's Day flowers for me there and she asked if I didn't like them, I could return them for something else. She got the same curt treatment. What's not to like? They bloom all summer, etc. She was very surprised at his behavior. When I told her me story, she said she is not going back either. My friend asked this morning where Hionis is so she could tell her mother, I told her not to bother. In this age of economic downturn, you'd think that customer service would be the rule of the day, not so here. This letter is going on the review page for Hionis.
