75 dollars for a ribeye on the family menu. Comes cut in slices and is not very tender. Sauce and arugula were tasty. Sides are about 8 dollars. Carrots we're not cooked much and potatoes lacked any flavor.

For kids they offered Mac n cheese or grilled cheese.

    Overall pretty dissapointed.

Great atmosphere with a welcoming staff and even better food. The use of local ingredients creates a feeling of inspiration and pride to be living in Vermont. Some highly unique ingredient combinations keep you guessing as to "what are those flavors" from the starters all the way through to thier decadent desserts. I personally find it impossible to not stop by whenever the menu changes.

If you like cheese, this is a terrific restaurant; their appetizers are basically a long list of different cheeses with crackers and condiments. We don't know much about cheese, but the waiter did a great job explaining our options, and we were very pleased with the result.

The entrees are just as unique as the appetizers. Overall, a fascinating menu -- but the food is very good, the service is excellent, and the price is not unreasonable. I would definitely return to this restaurant.

Wonderful time at the Waterbury Hen of the Wood. So delicious. Food is on par or better than the Burlington location. I would recommend selecting several small plates or cheeses to share and an entree for each person. The pacing between each course is perfect and will leave you room for their delicious desserts. The ambiance in Waterbury is definitely more cozy than Burlington. Either location is a must visit everytime I am in VT visiting my in-laws. A dinner here or at the Burlington location will never disappoint!!!

Still the hipster location for good food and beverage in Waterbury. Funky table arrangements in this rehab with a central pit table for lucky diners and outdoor seating in season. Open kitchen like downtown. Very friendly service, accommodating and cheerful. Parking can be found, can be a struggle on a rainy night.

    Heady Topper on tap.

Exceeded our expectations. Plates are small enough to order a few and share, you will probably want to because the menu is full of interesting options. Great atmosphere and service. This is not a food quantity per dollar value-based restaurant, so expect to pay more for quality.

We had wonderful food, and judging by the comments of our fellow patrons at surrounding tables, universally so. We had a hanger steak cooked perfectly in an Italian style, and a vegetarian risotto that my son ate so fast that it disappeared before my eyes. The chef even cooked some shishito peppers for us just because we asked for them. Can't go wrong here, if you can get in.

Extremely tasty, well prepared and presented meals. Octopus was our favoured dish of the eve. Daily menu, seasonal offerings. The wine list offers a real variety, not only in styles, but in price also. A lot cheaper for a good bottle than we'd anticipated.

Lovely ambience, service and overall experience. All the food - far too salty! Had the grilled octopus, tomorrow, cucumber salad & halibut. Every dish was far too salty. Have noticed a trend in fine dining across the U.S. with seasoning being dialed down - but not here.

I enjoyed everything I had. The chef modified the side dish to accommodate my request. I had grilled octopus and duck.

Excellent fine dining and all that entails. Hefty prices for regular Vermonters but well worth the blow to the wallet, IMHO. Reservations were 2 months out last I knew but me and my beautiful wife Maria walked in one day around 4:30p and we were seated :)
