This was a great campground. The person taking the reservation on the phone, and the person checking us in were both great. The only thing that could move it up to a 5 star would be water access. Either a lake, a pond, or a pool would make it appeal to a lot more people. But with our Passport America pricing I think it's the best deal we've ever gotten at a campground with full hookup, laundry, showers, playground .. and a liquor store at the end of the driveway! HAHAHA!!!!!

It was quaint, bathrooms clean and secure. My only wish would've been that the playground would've been kept up as my daughter constantly wanted to go there and much was falling apart and unsafe for her. It was also located on top of the rv waste flush area :/

It is nice as long as you know what you are getting into and are ok with it.There isn't a camp host and no staff on the campground. So no one to keep an eye on things. The list of rules is short and on their website but not printed and given to each site along with a map like many other places do. What is not on that short list of rules is keeping your pets leashed. No one leashed thier pets but us(nor did they have to). I would hear our neighbors yelling all the time at one of their dogs running off. If we were spotted with our leashed dogs some campers would make an effort to chase down their animals to leash them but usually to late to be of help but I appreciated the effort. Other campsites would have trash throughout their site. The place has not been mowed in at least a month, if at all this year. Since the ground is so sandy, it's not a huge deal just looked a little messy. But all that said, the campground is in a great location and priced almost appropriately for the conditions. Although it was frustrating dealing with loose animals, everyone at the campground was nice. If I want to stay in Wellston again, I would still opt to stay here over the national forest camps. The sites are spacious and full hook ups are available.
