This clinic is very clean, friendly, and gentle. My Guinea Pig Bear had a tumor and they have worked hard to care for him and follow up to be sure he is healing well from surgery removal as well as be available to answer any questions I have.I was even able to set up an affordable payment plan for his medical bills. All in all a very trustworthy Vet Clinic.

Healthy Pet Veterinary Clinic helped save my rabbit Checkers life. He was seriously ill with GI stasis. Thanks to Dr. Christman and all her help and support, he is almost back to his normal spunky self. The entire staff has been so pleasant to work with. I'm glad there are 3 Vets there that are bunny savvy.

I cannot even put in words properly how wonderful this clinic was ! I live an hour away from this clinic and can't see myself ever taking my pets anywhere else. The clinic is clean, the prices are great and the staff and vets are the best. My dog was well taken care of and is healing well. I truly appreciate how kind and professional this whole experience was!

I've been taking my dogs to healthy pet vet for about 3 years now and I never want to switch vets! This is the best team of vets, vet techs and office staff. When I had to put down my very ill dog, they were so patient, kind, and helpful. They even sent me an impression of his paw print and a card afterwards, it was very thoughtful and a keepsake I can always cherish. Very great people who clearly love and want whats best for your pet!

I recently adopted a very high-strung, high-anxiety kitty. I took her to this clinic on a recommendation after a rough week, because she wasn’t eating or drinking. I ended up seeing two of the doctors here and both were great - they offered great care and suggestions to help my cat relax in her new home. Now, a week later, she’s made huge strides in adjusting to her new home and I don’t think it would have worked out if it weren’t for these guys’ help. It was also super easy to schedule an appointment with really convenient hours for those of us who work during the day. Super clean, nice facilities and they even followed up to make sure my cat was doing okay. It’s probably the most caring vet I’ve been to and I highly recommend them.

I had such a great experience with healthy pet vet today. I brought my rabbit in for a check up and some “bunny maintenance” that I needed help learning how to do. I was very honest with the Vet and Vet tech that it brings me anxiety to try to pick my rabbit up to clean his bottom and trim his nails. I hate making him stressed out! Not only did they do both of these things for me during the appointment, they also taught me how to do these things at home. They showed me the exact way to pick him up and handle him comfortably (something I have never been able to do in the 6 months of having him) By then end of the appointment I felt confident enough to be able to pick him up, hold him and put him in his carrier without having a panic attack about him being scared or stressed. They also sent a very nice follow up email that included details from conversations I had with her! I had mentioned we wanted to build him a huge hutch and her email said “good luck with the bunny mansion! Send us pictures!” All in all I would highly suggest bringing your pet here! 10/10 great experience.

We just got 3 kitties (Sisters) from my parents recently and we took them all in for their shots, etc and one of them had an eye/resp infection. The Vet there was very professional, nice who dealt with my Mom who brought the kitties in while I was at work. I really liked the follow up's they do via e-mail with each kitty's profile/info, etc. I'd highly recommend taking your cats/pets here! :)

I was very happy with my first visit to Healthy Pet Vet Clinic with my cat Tommy. The staff was super friendly, and I really appreciated the detailed answers to all of my questions. They also followed up with me via email. I will definitely be back and plan on Healthy Pet as Tommy's permanent vet.

This was my first vet experience in life - we took our new puppy here for vet care a few weeks ago. The staff were wonderful, the care felt very complete, and they were great about considering his history and previous home when recommending treatments and preventative measures. Best of all, living so close by gives us the opportunity to see the vet staff care for their own pets, and they show a wonderful level of compassion and understanding. We're looking forward to coming back, and our pup tries to go inside every time we walk by - he must be a fan as well!

I took my cat in for a check-up after a not so great experience at a previous clinic. The staff at Healthy Pet were so sweet and loving towards my cat, very gentle with him and very thorough. I feel like they genuinely cared. I will be returning. Thank you so much!

Healthy Pet has been our vet for years. They have cared for our two cats and our two dogs and have provided excellent care and follow up for many years. When our Great Dane recently ingested 6 rags, a sock, and a large canvas place mat, they operated on our big girl at their first opportunity. They provided excellent follow up care and communication as we dealt with all of the after affects of having a giant breed dog undergo major surgery. We always know we will get the best care and compassion from the folks at Healthy Pet, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for veterinary care services. And on top of being great vets, they are also very kind people who treat their customers and their furry family members with nothing but care and respect.

We have been going to Healthy Pet since we got our first greyhound. Since then we've had another greyhound (Dolly), a husky/border collie mix (Stanley - Dr Carla even came to our house when he had to be put down at age 19) and now a terrier mix (Maggie). All had their share of issues and misfortunes but our trust in the Vets at Healthy Pet has ALWAYS been rewarded.

Drs Carla, Roberts and Oxley treat us and our dogs with compassion and caring. That goes for the entire staff as well. Maggie used to balk at going into the clinic but now she happily goes in, even though the examining room still makes her anxious (did I mention she's a terrier). Even then, she allows poking and prodding from the staff that she would NEVER allow from us. That just might say it all.

We've taken our much-loved rescue mutt, Lucky, to Healthy Pet for her annual check-ups for 3 years. Cheerful staff, clean lobby and exam rooms, friendly techs and vets who are able to answer questions without getting bogged down in complex details. Compassionate, respectful of owner approaches to pet care and medical treatment. From having a cancerous tumor removed to getting her rabies shots, we've been pleased! But don't tell too many people about them: their schedule for day-of appointments for more urgent care is already hard to get in to!

The Cliff notes version: Skilled, caring, dependable veterinary care where I know that my dogs & cat are getting the best possible medical attention and that we're all in loving hands.

The novel-length version: I started taking my pets to Dr. Christman (or affectionately, Dr. Carla) over 14 years ago when I moved to Madison. I had a greyhound at the time, and their physiology is somewhat different than other canines. Dr. Carla had and has a greyhound herself and does veterinary care for a number of greyhounds, so that was my original point of reference.

Over that 14 years, I have had a number of dogs and cats (plus added a husband--to whom she does not administer medical care, but has enthusiastically embraced into the fold), and every visit has been five-star worthy. During that time my pets and I have also seen Dr. Roberts and Dr. Oxley, veterinarians who have our deepest trust and respect. The Healthy Pet staff of vet techs and receptionists/administrators are also amazing.

Our animals always get excellent care, and when the path to follow might be in doubt, the veterinarians and staff at Healthy Pet educate us about the options and help us make the decision that's best for us and our furry family. They also recognize that budgets can be a consideration no matter how much we love our pets, and seek to work within that as well. I have never felt that they recommended a test or procedure that was superfluous and wasn't in the best interests of our pet and us.

As George Carlin so accurately observed in his black-humor way, "You're not just getting a pet. You're getting a small tragedy in the making." The pets my husband and I adopt are often seniors, so as pets age and quality of life seriously deteriorates, we have experienced more than our share of seeing euthanasia as the humane choice and saying good-bye to companion animals. This is such a difficult time for anyone losing a beloved family member. When those times have come, Dr. Carla has created an atmosphere of loving respect for the animal and for us, making it feel like a sacred moment rather than merely a clinical procedure.

We are so grateful to know we have Healthy Pet Veterinary Clinic to support us and our pets through the entire life cycle, and making that life the best quality possible.

I have been taking my two cats to Healthy Pet Vet Clinic since 2008 and plan to continue. Their dedicated staff are friendly and always show concern when treating my pets whether its a regular check-up or for something more serious.

The newer location on East Washington Avenue is easy to get to and offers more exam rooms and space in the waiting area. They also offer boarding for small animals (rabbits, ferrets, etc) and cats which is a great bonus. I have housed my cats here once or twice due to travel and always feel more at ease knowing they are in good care.

We saw Dr. Carla for years with our greyhound and received excellent care. My beagle was recently at Healthy Pet for a dental cleaning and I was very happy with the cleaning itself and the care he received from staff. The vet technician thoroughly reviewed the paperwork and explained optional procedures we could add-on. I felt he was very straightforward with me about what was recommended for my dog's health and what I could opt out of this time. I received a call from the doctor shortly after the procedure describing the condition of my dog's teeth as well as very clear pictures showing the work that had been done. The whole process was very thorough. The costs at Healthy Pet have always been very reasonable and fair. Overall the staff have a great dedication to keeping pets at their best and that keeps me coming back!
