Would give them 0 if I could. The most unfriendly staff I ever experienced did not want to help me at all. I had a refundable 1st class ticket from united airlines which included a leg on Hawaii airlines from kona to Honolulu. We got to the airport 3 hours ahead of the flight cause we were told to by Hawaiian airlines. I had back surgery 2 months ago and sitting outside in the heat was not ideal. When I asked to be switched to an earlier flight I was told NO, even though there were seats available. I even told them that I will forgo my first class and will sit in coach and still rudest "no", I ever heard. I will never use this airline ever again. Southwest does flights between islands too.
Their website wasn't working so I couldn't complete check in or pay for a checked bag ahead of time. Confusing bag drop process, they made me line up 3 times , each time to do another step, before they were satisfied. Curt, unhelpful staff at this location. They make United look efficient.
Flight was delayed and received no info on the delay. When asking an attendant for information on our delayed flight was given a rude response and never actually told why the flight was delayed or when it would leave. Would avoid flying this airline if at all possible, they definitely don’t embody the pleasant Hawaiian culture you’re met with on the islands. Small airline terrible service.
I am a frequent traveller flying at least 3 to 4 times a month on various airlines from SWA, all the major carries and international. The customer service and the nickle and diming with Hawaiian Airlines have been the worst I have experienced in years. I will never give them another cent of my money. It takes a lot for me to post a negative review but this was worth my time.
Update: Got on the plane and it was way less then half full, the flight attendant announced that if you are seated by someone and wanted to move you can. I moved immediately to the next row in front of me. As I moved the flight attendant immediately told me that if I wanted to sit there that it would be an upgrade of 10 dollars. Just for perspective the 4 ROW in front of me were empty (20 seats) so I moved to the row behind me.
Hawaiian Airlines needs to rethink there customer service and business model!
One of the most pain free experiences I’ve had and I’m a frequent traveler. Their kiosks get you started quickly and they simply get your bags, offered to take our carry-on luggage too at no cost, and did it all with a smile on their face. Zipped through security with plenty of time to spare and no luggage in tow.
