A must stop for lunch whenever Eva come for a visit, and a visit with Kim and Helga is a must. Good food and ambiance, and great people. Helga and Eva enjoying their visit.

This place is awesome. The food is fabulous, the ambiance friendly, and the setting is very eclectic. My favorite for lunch or dinner - try the Tres Tamales, yum.

Tough one. 5 stars for settings and super nice staff, really good and friendly service, enjoyed our time! Bad news: both entrees had super good fresh fish cooked well but with bad seasoning and balance completely missed. Overall too sweet, other dish had heat with topping sauce but lacked completely seasoning in the fish itself. Same with other dish: you need at least some salt and pepper to match sweetness of banana smash, non existent on this one. Great place to visit but kitchen needs to step up.

Was seated outside and left there for exactly 20 minutes until I went inside and asked to be moved to a different section with a server that cares. The waitress for our section (Peggy) walked past us multiple times taking care of the tables to our left and right but never acknowledged us. Sat there for 20 minutes with no silverware, menus and no acknowledgement. Never even looked at us. Multiple times walked right past us. I had to go to a different section to ne served. Had a horrible experience at this restaurant and I can't honestly say if the food was good because I was so put off with the horrible service. Peggy made us feel as if we were not wanted there.

Only had a drink here but wish we were around longer to have a meal. The girl behind the bar was great and we had a lot of banter about our English accents. If you go in, ask her for her English impression, it's hilarious, we don't all still sound like we come from a Mary Poppins movie. Anyway she was great, give it a go, before Phil's fish market (not my fave) u won't b disappointed

Excellent food, great Margarita's The menu is not your TEX-MEX normal, it is unique. I had the Chile Relleno (not the vegan one although that would have been excellent also) and it was not only delicious it was a beautiful presentation. Lovely patio, quiet, great service will be back many times. My friend had the Enchiladas, they were wonderful and I will be trying those next time.

Lovely food and fantastic atmosphere. They have a stunning gallery of over 60 local artists. I ordered the salmon salad and ginger sticky pudding with coffee. Everything was a delicious experience. The people were not only friendly but also gracious. I was having problems charging my phone after whale watching. They graciously plugged in my phone behind the bar while I ate. I am on vacation and will not be able to return, but I would choose them if I ever make it back.

There isn't much choice of coffee / eating places at Moss Landing where the Whale watching tours are based but this is a very good one with a good selection of food and drinks and friendly helpful staff

My dinner was served below temperature. This was an unexpected surprise in a dish costing 26 dollars. It was a rice dish with added ingredients. Some of the chunks of chicken were cold in the middle. This was fixed promptly. Otherwise a friendly, tidy, nice place. Great service.

A lovely location, and we sat outside as the weather was quite nice. You'll need a fat wallet to eat here. Three of us had lunch (and one margarita) at the cost of over $80, which for me is excessive for a lunch.
The deep-fried artichoke hearts were $10.95 and the portion quite small. They were, however, delicious. My Spicy Tsunami Sandwich ($16.95) was fiery hot (yum!), the meat tender, and the bread crisp. The Rosemary Chicken Panini ($14.95) one friend ordered looked divine, but my other friend ran into trouble when she ordered the Chile Relleno Trotsky at $16.95. She'd specifically chosen this restaurant for their vegetarian offerings, and as the ingredients listed were all vegetables, she thought she was safe. Not until it was delivered did she discover than mole sauce is made with chicken broth. At first, staff offered to scrape the sauce off and replace it with pumpkin mole, but for a strict vegetarian, that is of course not acceptable. Eventually, my friend was able to trade her meal for one that was completely vegetarian (veggie enchiladas with pumpkin mole at $18.95). I'd like to suggest that the restaurant mark their offerings more clearly to make it easier for folks to order completely vegetarian food. My friend realizes she should have inquired, but if clearly marked, these mistakes can be avoided.
I would not recommend the house margarita at all. It was very bland, no tequila flavor to speak of, and not worth the $9.00 price tag.response / report this review -

Had lunch here with a friend after viewing the two photogenic otters in the harbour and then walking down to the ocean and back. Have passed by the Haute Enchilada for years, always eating at either the Whole Enchilada or Phil's Fish. BIG mistake! While both the previously mentioned restaurants serve a good meal, the Haute Enchilada far eclipsed both in terms of food quality and restaurant ambience. Very helpful wait staff, black beans to die for and an eclectic menu with enough choices to please both the traditionalist and the adventurer. Didn't have time to visit the art gallery but so happy to have another reason to return soon.

What a delightful restaurant! This is my go-to spot for out-of-town guests. The food is delicious, the service is excellent without being overpowering, and the ambiance is truly one of a kind! Not to mention their sugar free salted caramel cheesecake is AWESOME!
