Went here today after looking around at few other places to purchase new wedding rings for my husband and me, had a awesome experience with Heather! Selection to choose from was amazing. Can not wait to get our new sets next week. Thanks again Heather!!

They have some decent coins but mediocre and nothing special on the older stuff. If you want to buy fine, regardless of high prices on lower quality coins. I took some better pieces to get an idea of what they would offer knowing book value ahead of time. I have been studying numismatics for 40 years. I dressed in average street garb looking like maybe, I needed to sell. I waited while a family of 4 anxiously awaited while they unloaded their heirlooms for cash. Then while looking around the room waiting for my turn noticed the guy waving me on like "come'on, come'on" as if he were in a hurry to get it over with. First I started off showing him some mid range bust dimes and a couple quarters, barber, cleaned 1917 fh t1 standing liberty. I was low-balled as expected. Then I pulled out better pieces. and actually, I was low-balled on everything. Not gray sheet (dealer price guide) values as expected, but much less. About a 1/4 to 1/3 value. For example I was offered 1k for a 1805 Draped Bust Dime in xf-40 with 4 berries. It books between 2-3k (this coin frequently sells upwards of 2k in vf-30 upwards of 3k in xf40). He looked it over like his eye was about to pop out. I was told that an NGC-Slabbed (mind you) jr-2r3 1820 10c "Office Boy" small O, "was lucky to make grade" au58. The coin looks mint with natural luster and white frosting. It looks better than most MS61's I've seen! I was offered $300 for 1814 au lg date 10c. with beautiful rainbow toning and virtually no trace of wear dings or scratches. Liberty is stunning with Full eye and hair above brow (as on all my dimes), (It books 1-2k). I laughed and said they sell much lower quality stuff and ask way more. Was told it was because of former owner's over pricing and I was free to make an offer Yeah, when Hell freezes! I would recommend selling heirlooms elsewhere. You may try more reputable online places like Heritage Auctions, Stacks and Bowers who will not try to rip you off. (I was puzzled about the remark about the previous owner knowing that this is a family owned business. Later found that the original owner is in a nursing home. However, to the best of my knowledge it is still the same ownership.
And yes, this place offered me $1000 for a $2000-$3000 coin, quite a profit margin.response / report this review -

I have been there twice now.and I love it they treat you well some things are high.I'm also a beginner so I'm only learning but I enjoy the place as a home and plan to give them more of my buisness.

I've been there many times, and have had excellent customer service! The prices have been fair. I see a lot of sour-grapes posting, and most likely because they thought they had a "great piece" and going to get big bucks, only to come down to reality. They do take time with each customer (do not rush you), so you may have to wait if they are busy. If you are in a hurry, come at another (less hurried) time. I go in with shorts and t-shirt, and have been treated with a smile and respect, even when buying only $5 of merchandise. I have been to other places, but now I only go to Hartville Coin.
