I love this airport! I’m born and raised in Atlanta and so I value the history of the airport- esp it’s expansion and job creation. As a traveler is one of the cleanest and up-to-date airports with lots of food and shopping options. Since I was a kid I’ve loved the train and it’s super convenient considering how big is the airport. The art and historical exhibits between terminals are great! Lots of suburban traffic in the city and so taking MARTA to the airport is always a win for me.

I recently had a layover in Atlanta while traveling from Alaska and spent some time exploring the area around the terminals. I like the layout of the airport while plenty of restrooms and drinking fountains near many of the gates so you don't have to travel too far. Indoor shuttles are available for those that need them as well as the regular selection of food options and gift/novelty shops. Moving from gate to gate was made simple by the easy to follow maps and signs posted in multiple places. Often times long flights will have a connecting flight stop in Atlanta so most likely I will be back at this airport in the future. I would recommend this airport to anyone.

Best airport I've experienced, and not just saying that because I'm from Georgia. ;-) I've traveled through most of the major US airports and it's crazy that Atlanta is the busiest one in the nation but still the best. Here's why. The terminal & tram system. Pick ups and drop offs in Atlanta are at one main location. And that's also where ticketing and baggage claims are for all airlines - you have a North and South option and that's it. Very simple. Then to get to your terminal where your flight is, you simply hop on the subway train and it takes you to your terminal. Each terminal is long and spread out with lots of large bathrooms and food options as well as large vending machine rooms on either end. Everything thing you need is available to you, and even better you can take that train to any terminal (even other than the one you're flying out of) if there's something you want to eat that's at another terminal. Other airports tend to have too small overcrowded restrooms and you're often limited to only eat what's in your terminal. Rental car access is also easy via a sky tram. Just overall a well laid out and ran airport.

Arrived from an international flight about 840 PM. Ladies' restroom was filthy. Pretty much everything closed to eat in Concourse E by the time I got through customs (which was quick). For the "world's busiest airport" they clearly don't expect a lot of people to come through. Gate areas were clean and comfortable though, and getting to where you need to be via the train is easy.

I love airplanes I love airports I love flying.
Beautiful massive airport with plenty of things to occupy your time If you are fortunate enough to get in at a time where it is not slammed.
It's nice to have some actual restaurant options and not just a bunch of fast food.
I recommend paying close attention to all the signs to be sure you know where you are going because you can easily lose your way if it's your first time. And by any and all means necessary avoid at all costs trying to get a rental car. Find another way!

One of the busiest airports around but the accommodation were great. I received A+ service with the wheelchair assistance. Upon boarding the plane there were no hassle or hustle and bustle. There were an empty seat between me and the passenger that shared the row. Everyone wore masks and the flight was really nice. My thanks to the airline staff, the transporters and everyone involved in making my trip pleasantly enjoyable. Moreover I had been on an emergency trip for over a week so I was very tired and exhausted so this made me my very happy to be able to just sit back, relax and focus on getting back home without incident.

Very nice for an airport. Los of choices for restaurants, bars, shopping. Layout is well organized. Easy to get around. I enjoy walking from one terminal to the next, time permitting. There are always interesting exhibits to view on the walk. Clean restrooms usually. Always busy but usually you can find a seat at your rrstaurant of choice or go shopping without a problem. I hate layovers but if I have to have one, I like it to be at this airport.

One of the best, as long as it is not snowing or they lose power. E and F gates are fairly new and roomy, with a fair selection of restaurants, especially in the larger E gates. Check out the small exhibit of Atlanta's most famous son, Martin Luther King. Sometimes there is decent live music being played in the E restaurant court. Currency exchanges, like most in the USA give poor exchange rates. Wait until you get to your country of destination to change, unless it's Italy. You'll get a better rate.

12/2017 In response to the power outage. It's super insulting when the airport employees are taking pictures of the long lines instead of doing things like handing out water and helping people with small children find comfortable places to be. It's just pathetic that managers are standing around in groups, blocking the main pathways while making fun of people for standing in lines, instead of talking to the people and informing them that the lines they are in won't be ready until after they reschedule flights. The response time to getting the MARTA train system in ship shape to get us out of the airport was not quick enough but even after they got things rolling it was a calamity when people got to their final stops because we had to depend on the citizens of Atlanta to free us from the MARTA gates once we got to our destination stops. I hope the rest of our country's airports and cities with major airports leadership are looking at what happened here and developing plans so that people aren't kicked to the streets with minimal resources. It's 2017, this is the United States of America, that's supposed to mean something more than some employee saying to a foreigner, "Use your resources, figure it out!" Yes, this was something I really overheard. In case you can't tell, I was not impressed by anyone that was wearing a red jacket, or a plain white shirt with some sort of security badge it was apparent that they just wanted to go home. I am super disappointed that the leadership didn't inspire or provide the resources the employees needed to respond in a kinder manner. Instead the leadership seemed ill-prepared to fully take on this task, even though they have the resources of the city of Atlanta, the state of Georgia and the United States of America behind them. I give full thanks and kudos to the calm majority of Airport Guests, Atlanta Police Department, the random citizens of Atlanta and Delta Airlines for their generosity, professionalism and calm demeanor during this unexpected event.

I love the new renovations they have done to the terminals. The theme for the south terminal atleast was to expose the culture and history of Atlanta. I'm usually not an Art buff, but I had some spare time before my flight and I spent time looking at all the statues, painting, decorations and illustrations in few of the terminals. It must have cost a fortune for them to implement those but from a travelers point of view, the waiting time can be well spent enjoying these.
If you have time before your next flight I'd recommend taking the walk between the Concourses to see the many artistic decorations in it. There is 5 Concourses and between each there is a different theme. One is stone statues, anther is Atlanta History, another feels like you are walking through a tropical rain-forest. A much better transition through here this week from Cancun to Amsterdam than we had last week through JFK the other way, only 45 minutes in total. Much more impressed.
Would have been nice to explore the airport a bit more but all our time was in transition and boarding. Maybe next time..
WiFi is pretty slow too - was faster on the plane.
Pretty pleasant overall though.

Other than a person by the metal detectors giving me wrong info, making me miss my flight. Everyone else was extremely helpful. Me and my family ended up staying over night. We were brought blankets. Was not terrible. Would come again. This time knowing how to get around.

Spent a layover here.Airport seems well managed from my short time here. Definitely worth noting that it is busy! But flows pretty smoothly; not like a delay-type busy but more of high-volume-type busy. Lots of dining options and the airport staff seems friendly from my observations of them with other passengers :) If you have the option like I did for choosing an airport for your connecting flight, then this is worth a serious consideration👍.

Construction in some parts (Southwest) but it doesn't really affect travel just aesthetics. Place is massive but manages to be beautiful at the same time. Incorporates local artists' work throughout the place.

4 stars because it's an airport and we all know there is no such thing as a perfect airport

One of my favorite airports to travel through. Considering it is consistently one of the busiest in the world, we enjoy the ease of getting around it and the selections of food in each terminal. We seem to have friendlier interactions with the employees here than in other airports nationwide. Must be the Southern hospitality. :) Now that we travel with our baby we especially appreciate the little added attention such as how they let us go though the shorter security line with our stroller and have family restrooms for changing diapers, etc.

Airport is constantly packed no matter what time you arrive. Security was pretty easy going and I was able to get through in around 15 to 20 minutes. Signs are well placed and will get you where you need to go. If you are headed to concourse C or beyond I would definitely wait for the train. A & B are within walking distance but it is a decent distance between concourses. Food options are great and everything was fresh. Love the amount of non stop flights you can get from here.

Without a doubt worst airport I've ever been to. Stuck me and hundreds of others for the night. No hotels available and the place shuts down after 1100. No food. No nothing. Absolute joke. I only wish there was an option for a - in the rating. FYI. No weather issues either. DELTA is another story. Not even going to start.

The airport is big. It is a pain in the butt to get to the car rental center. There needs to be one of those people movers to get you to the train with all of your luggage. I'm still kind of young so I'm fine but in about 20 years I'm going to need a people mover. Hopefully someone important at the Atlanta airport will build this for me by the time I get old.

I recently found the Atlanta Still House near gate T13. This place is a bourbon bar with pretty good BBQ. The staff was also really friendly too. It's hard to find a fun bar staff in an airport. I can not wait to come back here to hang out and I never say that about an airport.

Didn't spent much time here but what I found was good. Security was tight but friendly and efficient. Good signage to get you where your going and large areas to rest. I didn't have time to shop or eat but what I saw seemed good. I would fly back here again happily.

Great airport! Quick to get through, great people, awesome amentities! Why 4 stars? It's just SO BIG! We had to take three trains to get to the gate! It took 35 minutes just on the trains. Due to this, we almost missed our flight. Other than that, awesome airport! Close to downtown, and easy to get to!

This airport can be a difficult to navigate if you don't do any planning ahead of time. They have a great website that explains the terminal layout. Four helpful hints for first time users:
(1) Always follow the signage to the next location
(2) Look at your ticket location - for example C20 would mean that you need to take the shuttle train (much easier than walking) to terminal C and then ride the escalator to terminal and follow sign numbers once inside terminal
(3) If you are renting a car you will take another shuttle train to the car rental location
(4) If you are still struggling ask an airport employee for guidance
After you understand these few things this airport is much less stressful. . .yes it is a large airport.

We found Atlanta to be interesting to drive through so remember to use your Global Positioning System (GPS) and use Atlanta's 285 bypass as much as possible .
