I’m a frequent patron and I’ve always had a great meal. Personal favorites: breakfast oatmeal bowl with fresh and dried fruit and nuts, for lunch it’s the freshly ground burger, and for dinner anything on the menu. Wine list quality and prices even impressed our California guests.

If you are on the Big island, this is THE BEST place to eat.
Great food, great owners, great music! Worth the cost of the ferry ride alone!
Jim knows his wines and Christine's culinary talents and dishes are always enjoyable.
This is my 5th or 6th season. looking forward to 2018!

Great background/insight/suggestion on wine selections, hence the schoolhouse name. The food selection was wide enough to please all with room to try out one of their unique offerings like the BrusselSprout slaw- you won't regret it! Perch was a bit less of a daring entree choice but it turned out to be over-the-top delicious!

Excellent food, and excellent service. Been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. Outside dining has a great view. Biscuits and gravy are a must try!
